that's a pretty good overview in my opinion. life was different for the remfs vs the grunts but it was a dangerous place 24/7/365 no matter where you were. "adrenalin junkies high on fear" <from a book i read years ago

I was gonna run a little reading comp smack til i realized you were asking if he was still in during nam, as were quite a few senior personnel. no, he was not. he stayed in a year or two after the end of the war in italy.
