So, one of my oldest friends' parents are long time opera lovers, who go to the LA and San Diego operas regularly. They're also world travelers who have been to the greates opera houses in Europe numerous times.

They had given my friend three tickets for his wife and daughters to see Carmen in San Diego this afternoon, but they had to cancel at the last minute. So the wife and I, and my sister in law, have inherited three center orchestra seats for Carmen this afternoon.

Should be interesting. Since it's not Wagner I may be able to make it through the entire performance without falling asleep.
