I wonder what Sirfindafold would say about this development.

If those shows get within 100 miles of Rochester, I am in.

Same here...well, San Diego not Rochester.

For some reason that site is "blocked by company policy".

I've noticed in the past week or so that for some reason a bunch of innocous sites (Photobucket, YouTube) are now "blocked by company policy". Guess they don't trust me anymore not to waste time. Think I'm gonna have to go talk to the babysitter.

Let the celebration commence.

Isn't it time for your afternoon Metamucil/Ensure cocktail, and a little nap after you change your Depends?

bet that was an awesome show. Probably sold out. Even the colored section. Actually, they prolly opened it up to white folks just to sell a few more tickets as i doubt there were more than a handful of brothers into LZ.

Some of those early 70s concert tours were the shiznit.

Never saw LZ live but I remember seeing Yes a couple of times, once during the Close to the Edge (around '73) tour at Winterland in SF and once for Tales from Topographic Oceans. That was an awesome band. Must have been someting I ate or something, but I remember seeing the walls sort of swimming, and trails and shit. Good times.

Sudden Sam wrote:Not a ton of black Alabamians into Zep at that time. That I can recall anyway. That was a helluva night. Basically all I remember is they opened with 'Rock and Roll', the drum solo in 'Moby Dick', smoke billowing during 'No Quarter', and Page bowing his axe.

Can't go into details, but a buddy and I were so...ummmm...we enjoyed the show so much that we told our friends to go back to Montgomery without us. We ended up at an apartment with some girls. Got a little weird when a dude pulled out a needle. Never got into that.

We hitchhiked home the next day.

A few years ago I managed to track down some live CDs of Zep's gigs in Mobile and New Orleans that sandwiched the Tuscaloosa show. And a photographer friend traded me...for copies of the CDs...a large photo of the band that he took that same evening.

Enough Zep shit.
Those are both classic performances. I have copies of a bunch of Zeppelin shows, and the 73 sets just have such a powerful vibe to them. The Mobile gig in particular is hot. If I ever find a copy of the Tuscaloosa show, I'll let you know. There might be an audience recording out there.

That would be very much appreciated.

If you could find out where I went late that night, I'd appreciate that as well!
So far, there is nothing out there. Amazing that there are 6 different tape sources for Mobile and 9 for New Orleans. But the for the Tuscaloosa show, not a thing showing any any bootleg database out there. Maybe the guys taping the show that night shared in some of your post show amnesia?

Of course it is also possible that a soundboard for the show is being held by a bootleg label for future release. But that is pure speculation.
