Spartacus: Sand and Blood

Post by King Crimson »

soon to come your way from Starz.

kind of a 300 style redux of the Spartacus myth (lotta action with slow-down throat slashing and cartoonish blood gashing)....and some some soft porn in the mix.

i've seen the first two epis and it's not bad. I'm a sucker for nipples, some bush, and Roman "history". not exactly brain food. the fight scenes are a little over-wrought and tedious imo.

Saw the commercials for it the other day. Made me think how much I liked and miss the Rome series from HBO.

Spartacus was not a myth, fyi. The uprising he was partially responsible for was an actual historical event known as the The Third Servile War of 73-71 BC.

true. putting down the rebellion is how Crassus gained the repute (which is to say, loyal legions) to allow him to be a triumvir with Pompey and Caesar. maybe better stated by me is that it is a "mythical" treatment of Spartacus.

Naaaght...I'm outing the myth. Prescott's birth was over a millenia away.

The line has to be drawn somewhere for how much you can fault Bush. Of course, LTS might see things differently.

bush: herbert walker, prescott, or some bush....

edit: (!) pic won't stay.

google "viva bianca" with safe search off for the bush.

5 episodes are now on Netflix, so I watched them. Xena has some nice mamms.

Interesting series.

Not enough tits and bush. Way too much cock and male ass.

def been a lot of "beefcake" in the last few epis. wonder, sometimes, who the target audience is.

I was wondering when the fuck Oenomaus was going to show up. Of course he was a Celtic Gaul not an African nog. I guess they needed a PC token.

i'm going to try and use the exclamation "Jupiter's Cock" far more often.

the new opiate peddling lezzie is the same hottie who was in Season 2 of Dexter.

Ah. I was wondering what they were going to do with their lead getting cancer. I guess they'll try to recast Spartacus for next season or something.

Just finished Gods of the Arena and Sand and Blood. Gods of the Arena looked like it had an increased budget. Both were very good.
