No crash diet, I had blood tests & a major lecture from my new doctor
I was missing a lot of things like iodine zinc selenium vitamin D & serotonin & my thyroid had gone into hibernation
So I have a regimen of vitamin & mineral supplements I have to take to get it kick-started again without going on strong medication & it's working
I cut out Dairy ( though I'm allowed a little goats cheese), processed foods & reduced my glutenous Cab intake by 90%
I eat loads of fresh veg, lean protein & 2 serves of fruit a day, wholegrain cereal at breakfast & I still indulge my choc habit but only with dairy free dark chocolate which you can only eat a small amount of at a time as it's so strong.
& I walk 4km 5 times a week at least including big assed hills
You just can't fix stupid...trust me I've tried

Not necessarily. It depends on the starting point. If it's still only a deck chair tossed from the Titanic, then no, that's not an unhealthy amount of weight to lose so quickly. If it's a 140 lb, healthy woman, then yes, that's too much, too soon.

Also, it sounds like she's going about it the right way. She's not merely starving herself, which will never work in the long run.

then between 1/2 to 1 kg a week is a healthy easily sustainable weight loss
Especially as I needed to lose 30kg at least
So I've dropped just over 1/3 of what I need to initially lose
which will take me to the size I was when I traveled around the US in 2002
but it's only 20% of my ultimate target
I want to drop another 15-20kg further if I can

& believe me I am not starving myself I'm just not eating the way I used to
I shop at the organic & farmers market every week because I figure If this is the way I'm going to eat for the rest of my life

My thyroid is obviously becoming re stimulated by the steps I've taken, I feel more energized & the depression that I had, from the lack or serotonin & other imbalances, but didn't realize it fully at the time is gone
& I'm enjoying life more fully again
So to all my haterboy fangirls yeah I'm a fat bitch but at least I'm doing something about it :p
