I'm in the same boat as far as the aversion to organized religion. I haven't been in a church for a reason other than a funeral in over a decade.

You might consider carrying a roll of tape with you when you ride. When I'm on a PGR mission I (and other ride captains) carry tape in case someone new is there wearing something that might offend the family. Might even help you in situations beyond entering a thumper house.

Excellent---- A+ ! Laughed at the part where the dude slashed the tires, and yes thank God there was no tree or wall there. I fell asleep at the wheel years ago and met up with a concrete culvert. Putting your head through the windshield is not recommended.

Had a similar experience on Highway 231 on the way to Sandy Creek for one of those summer concerts.

Got stuck in the mud in the median.

Before long there was a car, a truck and a small wrecker all in a row, stuck trying to pull each other out. It took one of those Mack truck wreckers to finally get us out.
