Doing it that way will keep your index from being misplaced. If your radio server goes down it will really mess up your index and board if you keep it the way it is.

I am pretty sure the stream on the header was working earlier today when BSmack was playing.

The header displays the stream information, and a list of what has been played. The header doesn't contain the radio stream itself, because every time you load a page it would be interrupted.
