texASS hosed themselves....
Great article by Dennis Dodd:
"It was the worst beating Texas has taken in public in at least seven years.
That 65-13 loss to Oklahoma in 2003 was only a football game. Nebraska officials spent the better part of 40 minutes Friday putting Bevo in his place.
Nebraska didn't just leave the Big 12 for the Big Ten on Friday, it told the world why: That bully Texas. In the space of eight days, Nebraska transformed from happy member of the Big 12 to angry, rancorous new member of the Big Ten.
Nebraska chancellor Harvey Perlman and AD Tom Osborne both took turns hammering Texas during a comment period before the board of regents. When they got done, there was only one possible result. The regents' vote was unanimous. Nebraska is headed to the Big Ten. Unspoken: Because Texas forced it out.
The moment the news broke last week about the Pac-10's desire to take Texas and five Big 12 partners, Nebraska turned sour. Perlman, at one point, stared across a table during the Big 12 meetings at his Texas counterpart Bill Powers and asked him if he was willing to give up his media rights. In other words, start a Big 12 Network. Powers said no. At that point, Perlman knew it was over.
This league had a chance to survive seven years ago but a possible network was voted down, obviously not supported by Texas. Now, it's clear the Pac-10 is going to get Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma.
Super conferences, start your engines.
The money quote from Osborne: "One school leaving a conference does not break up a conference. Two schools leaving a conference does not break up a conference. Six schools leaving a conference, breaks up a conference. We have not had a hidden agenda, we have not dealt with more than one conference."
T.O. intimated that Texas has been talking to the SEC, Big Ten and Pac-10.
It was a bad day for Texas' reputation. It was a good day for Nebraska's future."
Texas also hosed about 6 other schools in the process....fuck em tho...they voted lockstep with texASS all through the years. Fuck 'em.
Fuck the Gabberts of Mizzou, too. Hope you boys like being in a non-BCS conference. Might not happen...but it might.

Dream on, you pathetic asswipe.
Texas will do quite well regardless. There is no plausible scenario which will not result in Texas remaining the most valuable team in college football and retaining the pick of the litter of Texas recruits.

Maybe the two teams can meet for a BCS title game some day. That way Texas can add another venue where they own the Red

I'm not doubting that Texas will land on its feet. I'm contending, along with the author of that article, that their reputation is permanently damaged. It's all about them and if it's not good for Texas, well fuck it then. Recruits on the fence: I'm going to Oregon, USC, Cal...I probably won't mean as much to the arrogant cow fuckers in Austin.mvscal wrote:Dream on, you pathetic asswipe.

Those stupid fucks had the opportunity to get on board with Big 12 network and chose to thumb their noses at the other 11 teams. Stupid much? Try that shit in the Pac 10 or wherever else they land. Sure...they're going to get picked up. That's a no-brainer. But, on much different terms and conditions. Gone are the days of "We're Texas". That's now a fucking punchline...a fucking joke. Texas' recruiting will suffer as a result, too. It only makes sense. Reap it bitches. Osborne got over in the end.
Re: texASS hosed themselves....
Voted lockstep with Texas through the years. What did that garner? The chagrine of the team that ultimately kicked Texas in its' sack....Nebraska. Where are the cries in Austin to bring the loyal MizzouTigers along? You guys rank below Baylor in the "eyes of Texas". Congrats.War Wagon wrote::?H4ever wrote: Fuck the Gabberts of Mizzou, too. Guess again, dumbfuck. We will always be Texas. You don't have to like it. You just have to suck on it.Gone are the days of "We're Texas."

Good god, you are one pitifully stupid sack of shit. If Texas lands in the PAC 10, it will be a boon for their recruiting especially considering the pranging USC just took. You think Texas can't or won't pilfer those recruits? You're a fucking idiot.

even the Texas 2nd hand homers (campin, angler) are better than mvscal. harv, vito, prime...slap this ho down.
more reputable. where was mvscal? oh, yeah, right, UT is undefeated (against a typically soft OOC schedule and still a FG away from losing to Landry Jones).....and here's mvscal rocking the horns.
though, the real bitch in all this is Kenny Starr's Baylor......but what else is new? if Mizzou gets left out, that will also be humorous....given all the pompous and huff MU has got going for not having the same TV rev as OU and UT. note to MU: you aren't Oklahoma or Texas (or Nebraska)....don't act so surprised.

there are a lot of NU fans in Colorado and they are kind of wussing it up about how Dr. Tom put the revenge hurt on Texas. and normally, i like the scenario where UT takes it in the junk but NU fan is taking themselves a little over-seriously in all this. in fact, they are starting to sound like Texas....everyone else cheats and has low standards but "we" are the virtuous ones who are awesomely awesome.Killian wrote:No offense, but Nebraska sounds like a bunch of pussies in that article.

Re: texASS hosed themselves....
Huh? How is it bad for Texas that Nebraska went to the Big 10? How is it bad that we lost coverage in the recruiting hot bed of Omaha? How is it bad that we picked up SO-Cal, Arizona and the Northwest?H4ever wrote:Great article by Dennis Dodd:

I tell you who got fucked on this deal....Nebraska. Their ego and most importantly Tom Osbourne, took the hit. The enitre nation saw NU for what they are, a bunch of whining pussies. It was bad enough after we beat you in the Big XII title game and your pussy coach and AD would not shake hands. But now he is trying to make it the fact that they left because they were 4th string behind Texas, OU, Texas A&M in the Big XII that there are greener pastures in the Big 10?
Tell the truth. This is about NU getting most jack$$$$. It is also about NU wanting a say. Texas pretty much ran the Big XII and NU didn't. Well, what did NU do to deserve the top seat in the conference? Who brought in the largest TV markets? Who brought in the revenue? Who? It wasn't NU. You can thank Texas and OU. They carried the conference for the last 13 years.
NU could have had the conference they wanted but instead they got cocky. Some of the Big 8 members actually thought they were saving the 4 schools from the SWC. The only school that needed saving was Baylor. They will be in the MWC next week. Goodbye. It is that old adage of careful what you wish for. NU didn't want to share revenue. Because at the inception of the conference, they were the biggest earner. At the end of the conference they were behind A&M.
I say good riddance to that arrogant cocksucker. Goodluck being 4th or 5th bitch in the Big 10. OSU, PSU and Michigan will keep NU in place.
Who did we hose? We wanted to keep the conference together. Missouri was the one school that was vocal about looking at new opportunities. It's like this: You are married and you go out to dinner with your wife....do you look at hot chicks when they walk by? Of course unless you are a turd burglar like H4ever. So chicks walk by and you stare. You try not to get caught by your old lady but you will look. Unless you are a total retard do you tell her that you are looking at other women? No. Missouri told. You cannot be angry when she dumps your ass and that is what happend to Missouri.H4ever wrote: Texas also hosed about 6 other schools in the process....fuck em tho...they voted lockstep with texASS all through the years. Fuck 'em.
We will be in the Pac-10 next week and we will be fine. NU and MIssouri are losing their TV presence in Texas and that will hurt their recruiting. Texas picks up the entire West Coast. We win, you lose....just like everything Texas did in the Big XII.

Re: texASS hosed themselves....
Uh...no. As your fellow Sooners are so fond of pointing out, Texas recruits merely provide the depth needed to round out your program not its all-americans. Nothing wrong with that. Just don't kid yourself.
Regardless, the PAC 10 is going to find mighty slim pickins in the state after Texas, OU and the rest of the lesser Texas programs take their pick.

What did NU do to deserve the top seat? Oh, I don't know... WHEN THE CONFERENCE WAS FORMED NU WAS COMING OFF TWO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!! Then followed it up with another one in 1997! Yeah, I know, ancient history, but we were top team in the conference when the Big 12 formed.Harvdog wrote:

And Texas didn't want to give up media rights with their dream of the Longhorn Network. And got the Big 12 office move from KC to Dallas. And got their wish on partial qualifiers. And keeping the championship game in Texas instead of rotating it. And... I could go on. Don't tell me NU got cocky. Texas not only was cocky, but had everyone in the conference waiting in line to pleasure them.Harvdog wrote: NU could have had the conference they wanted but instead they got cocky. Really? Is that why you guys were courting three conferences while getting Beebe to issue an ultimatum to us and MU? If they really wanted to keep the conference together, why aren't they trying to do so now? There are 10 teams left. You have 2 of the top teams in the country in OU and Texas still in the conference. It's still strong. Instead, they'd rather pull up shop to taint another conference.Harvdog wrote:

How do we lose? Starting in 2011 NU will be on TV every week either on ABC, ESPN or the Big 10 network with no PPV. Meanwhile, the Pac 10 has no network and is stuck on the ultra crappy Fox sports. As for recruiting, news flash, NU doesn't just recruit in Texas. They've managed to get kids from all over the country. I realize it's a lot harder than just recruiting only in Texas, which you guys do to lazy effect 98 percent of the time. That's not going to change for NU. They faced recruiting hardships before Texas and will continue to overcome them without the loving embrace of a benevolent Texas allowing us to be good. After all, we were shit before Texas came along to save us.Harvdog wrote: We will be in the Pac-10 next week and we will be fine. So, you really have no point at all then. For the record, it isn't possible for an alum to 'bandwagon' a college team. I am, always have and always will be a Texas Longhorn.
