C'mon, step up to the bar and reveal your true take on his rant--its basic message, the particular script, and his delivery.

Personally, though I deplore Mel's movie's in general, and his religiosity entirely, I like it. I think he nails it, especially as we hear how the bitch is carefully playing along, luring him on to further ranting. Oh sure, he's done in Hollywood, or whatever that entity is, but his rant holds up. He's such a pro that he can't help but sum up and reiterate with a masterful cadence and rhythm.

Well of course he's done in movies. He has been for a long time, regardless of "Edge Of Darkness." At issue is the quality of the rant as a rant. For example, notice how much better composed is Gibson's vitriol than Alec Baldwin's laceration of his daughter. And what was "that green thing" she had that day? You see, sometimes it's what you leave out that counts.

Overrated by whom? I don't recall it getting much critical acclaim. If you ignore all of the low brow attempts at humor and just take it for what it's worth (a satire of Stars Wars and other sci-fi shit)... I guess it's okay.
