SEC!
Awesome.
Got a new employee who lives in Alabama here that is walking around being introduced. A coworker asked him if he’s a Georgia fan being from Georgia. He said he was actually an Alabama fan, but more than anything he’s an SEC fan. A nice LOL moment in the office is always good.

I spent 4 hours this morning training him on some stuff for his orientation. We went to lunch, and he offered to drive. I said, "Sure, might as well take the rental." He said, "Actually, I drove up from Alabama. Didn't want to get stuck in an airport in Detroit or Chicago."
I shit you not.

No fucking way will I ever allow anyone from my work on here. To be honest, I didn't even think twice about it when he said he drove here to avoid getting stuck in an airport. Didn't register one bit until I read SC's "did he fly" take. I got a true LOL moment in the office in back to back days.

Besides, can't watch ALL 6 games when you're sitting in a stadium.

I enjoy the SECBSH troll.
It reminds me how much everybody else hates the #1 Football Conference.
It's also "equal time" for Beano Cook and his like:
"Notre Dame can still win the National Championship...here's how!"

Nobody hates the SEC as a league. People hate it's member schools' phobias of: airports, planes, adverse (see: not warm) weather, road OOC games, road OOC games against competitive opponents, etc.
Re: SEC!
I don't see many Big (insert number here) schools busting a move to come down here, either.
Gotta play all those compass point JUCO campuses and service academies, ya know.

I can think of a PAC (insert number here) school that's doing just that. Of course, when they scheduled the game, their SEC opponent was pretty darn good. Now, not so much, sue to a really bad coaching hire.

So you'll come down for a real game but your team won't?

I find it ironic Auburn fan is busting OSU fan's balls about traveling to play OOC teams. SC, Texas ring a bell?

Re: SEC!
Carson...good point...got to see that...
Now onto the other deal...as Screw mentioned...Texas, USC, Miami of FLA, Cal, Va Tech, Oklahoma, and Tenn in the coming decade to have a huge OOC game every year...you know many schools don't/won't give up home dates...why doesn't the AD at Auburn pick up the phone and call OSU??? I also love how when OSU played Washington 2 years ago at UW...everyone was like shit game, etc...LSU goes there and everyone is like look who LSU is playing...something about goose/gander...
plus on top of the big OOC game OSU PLAYS EVERY YEAR...the Big 10 is getting much better (sup Iowa, Wisconsin, add Nebraska, PSU)...and we play Cincy and a couple other mid majors...do we have cupcakes? Sure...but when was the last time Auburn left home for a OOC game? 8-10 years ago and got stomped by Ga Tech right? They were #1 pre-season right?

Re: SEC!
Auburn used to travel to Austin, Lincoln, L.A. and others until Tuberville watered down the schedules. Chicken-shit.
Why can't the Big (insert number here) ADs make those calls to SEC schools? Oh wait, OSU against the SEC...

Re: SEC!
Carson...yep...0-9 in bowls against the SEC...bowls...not reg season...
the rest of the 10 has been pretty successful against the SEC...sup PSU, etc...
Why won't the SEC schools call OSU then? At least Tennessee has the nads to man up and give up a home game and play OSU at the Shoe and OSU is headed to K Ville...don't act like AU's schedule is so much the superior...
Everyone talks about how UF has to play Miami and FSU or whatever...well first off Miami is average at best over the last say 6 years and while UF is playing the Citadel, App State, etc they fall back on the SEC schedule but yet LSU, Tennessee, UGA can travel OUTSIDE of the south to play Va Tech, UCLA, Washington, USC, Cal, etc, etc...
Look I could care less how SEC Meatgrinder fan views OSU...all I know is OSU is a pretty damn successful program and save for a 2 year run of losses in high profile games (what school hasn't had that happen)...they are pretty stout and many schools not named Texas, USC, UF, Bama for the most part would LOVE to trade places

I know how your rolls of fat are substitute for any brain matter upstairs, but I'm not a Spartan, you liposuctionist's wet dream. I'm a Western Michigan grad. Thanks for the complement regarding playing MSU, but WMU is horrible in TV games, so I don't expect a win.

Re: SEC!
MSU's OOC schedule this year is as weak as I can ever recall it. No debate there. In 2008 their top-to-bottom schedule was ranked one of the toughest in the nation, so this shit is cyclical. Up until the Montana St game last year, MSU was one of the 3 or 4 remaining teams not to have played a D1 AA school. I was pretty disappointed when that streak came to an end.
It was actually supposed to be a true home-and-home with FAU. MSU was to play FAU down there this year, but since the construction on FAU's stadium didn't finish in time, they were forced to move the game to an alternate location. Yeah, it sucks for FAU that they have to play a "home game" in Detroit, but at least the intent for a true home-and-home was there. I'll be extremely impressed the day an SEC school travels across the country to play a true road game in a "mid major's" stadium.Hey - you guys are traveling ........... to................ DETROIT for FLORIDA ATLANTIC! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: SEC!
They're playing FAU "away" because they HAVE TO. What part of "home-and-home" didn't you understand? Like I said, FAU's stadium is under construction, so they can't play the game there. That means FAU gets to pick the venue. Since they'll be taking in the revenue from the game, FAU opted to play in Michigan, where the highest number of tickets will be sold. Hence, FAU will make more money by playing the game at Ford Field. Get it?Papa Willie wrote:Seeing how the little teams get money of the gate, why in the fuck would MSU be wanting to play FAU "away" (bwahah)? How in the fuck was "Detrite" settled upon? Do you know how many stadiums are in Florida? Sounds like MSU was pulling strings BIG TIME on this one. Nobody in their right mind would want to play a "home game" in the biggest shit hole of America!
