The number you're looking for is 5. The others were (are): USC, UCLA, Washington, and Notre Dame.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:Up until the Montana St game last year, MSU was one of the 3 or 4 remaining teams not to have played a D1 AA school. I was pretty disappointed when that streak came to an end.
For all the shit we take about our schedule (some of it legitimate, at least in recent years, although that appears to be changing down the road, with Oklahoma, Miami and Texas all on the schedule in years to come), I'm fairly confident that ND will never schedule a 1-AA team. Possible exception to that if the service academies ever drop down, but that's the only possible exception I could ever see happening.

but, i do like how SEC fan wants credit for home-homes with the bluebloods yet still maintains that "everyone" is afraid to travel "down there". if you claim one as evidence or a premise to the larger argument, you kind of have to go both ways with it.
Oklahoma, in addition to the Bama series has LSU and Tennessee on the books in addition to (non-SEC, but "down there") home-homes with Miami last year and FSU which begins this year.

be that as it may that SEC fan wants to talk about no one traveling down there...why don't your AD's pick up the phone...or are you guys still on the tin can/string deal or rotary...
I understand some SEC teams have played some marquee opponents OOC...but some of your schools FLA, MISS, UGA (with the exception of Arz St and Okie State) and some others don't play marquee games OOC...and I am sorry that instead of scheduling a SEC team that might not be a top 10 team annualy (like USC, Texas, Oklahoma)...Ohio State has been one of the FEW big time schools to step up to the plate and schedule a BIG TIME OOC game...
again Oklahoma, Va Tech, Tennessee, etc all coming in the next few years...
scheduling is scheduling...everyone makes it out like it is so fucking hard...well if basketball can schedule 2 years out then Football should be able to...this way you get teams when they maybe more at a peak rather than on the decline or falling back to average (Miami of FLA this year for OSU)...
I could care fucking less...just get the season here already

We're using just this year if that fits your argument. This has been about a pattern of behavior by SEC teams.
And yeah, I do want you to go on. Is there more than 3 teams in the conference that have had home and homes with teams outside their time zone or north of the mason-dixon line? How many of those teams have more than 1?

One of my major beefs is this whole schedule out eighty fucking years in advance...
Like Spray pointed out...Miami isn't what they used to be...but when the slate was set they were...it could happen TO ANYONE...here is the deal though...OSU has COMMITTED regardless of how the conference is to play one marquee OOC game a year...I think they have done an EXCELLENT job of taking a pretty good cross section of blue blood teams (sup Texas, OU, USC) and some newer blood Miami, CAL, Va TEch, etc...plus you throw in Tennessee in 2018 and 2019...how fucking stupid is that...if tennessee sucks gorilla balls...OSU gets no credit...and I wouldn't expect them to...
but as I look out over say the past 10-15 years with OSU they have gone to:
Washington - when they were pretty good and not so much
WVU - 1998 with Bulger they were #14 and we butt fucked them in the mouth
Texas
USC
Miami next year
we have hosted WSU and Texas Tech in the same year sup 2002...
so again they are playing the one big OOC game...and now that the Big 10 is getting their depth and quality back ...it should benefit them...

So you don't want to go on? Noted. Big 10 and Pac 10 teams have proven they will travel. The SEC? Not so much.
Do you want to answer my original question? If the SEC is such a meatgrinder, and they get extra consideration because the conference is so tough why did Auburn get passed over in 2004?

Here is the Badgers' 2010 Murderers' Row OOC:
Sat, Sept 4 @ UNLV
Sat, Sept 11 vs San Jose State
Sat, Sept 18 vs Arizona State
Sat, Sept 25 vs Austin Peay
Not one of them had a winning record last year, total overall record of 15-32. Absolutely pitiful and a lot of the season ticket holders are bitching about paying good money to see UW play horrible teams. And two years ago they damn near lost at home to Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo.
Over the past 5 years UW is 2-1 against the SEC in bowl games (I’m pretty sure we had to fly to all of them), including a 24-10 thumping of Allbarn.

You should probably look up the definitions of a couple of phrases, learn what they mean, and actually try and understand what they mean.
The first phrase that you're obviously hopelessly unfamiliar with is "home-and-home." Reread what you wrote, and see if you can figure out where the Inbred Idiotic SECBSH stereotype comes from.
The second phrase you should research the meaning of is "you have kicked your own ass."

plus you throw in Tennessee in 2018 and 2019
Hopefully, they've recovered a bit by 2018... they do kinda have one of those crystal football thingies, which should reduce the rebuild time.
But... welcome to Oregon's world. Every now and then, there's a cupcake, but it's generally a rival from the Old Days, such as Idaho, and occasionally there's the state-school-cash-grab with Portland St... but other than those, O usually tries to play marquee teams OOC.
And Tenn was a damn good team when they scheduled them for 2010. And New Mexico was on a stellar climb, and was almost becoming a perennial spoiler and bowl game fixture... until Oregon scheduled them for 2010, at which point they decided to rival Wazzu for Worst Team In The Country.
Add in that Portland St game this year (remember, the PAC only plays 3 OOCs), and it becomes a rather SEC-like schedule.

More SECBSH "logic."
You think it might have something to do with only playing 3 decent teams, when the championship game opponent has often played 8?
Nah -- must be because they're "battle-tested," which is the inevitable result of playing Northeastern Western Northeastern Bible College 4 times a season.

Which doesn't really sting, since my team is the "1."
Like any other conference, there's ebb and flow. There should be 7-8 decent-or-better teams in the PAC this year... but that's why we play the games.
Kinda depends on what ASU, Zona, UDub, and fUCLA look like. Rumor has it they should all improve, but I'll believe it when I see it. We know that U of O, OS, and The Ineligible Ones are going to be bringing the lumber... or I think USC will, since they have an experienced QB, and a whole bunch of dudes with a bunch of stars next to their names...
Plus, they have a new coach that...
