I remember. Maybe not the specifics of the Battle of Britain, but WW 2 from my world. Air raid drills at night complete with blackouts. Seeing German POW's in an internment camp in Newark NY near my Grandfather's house. Taking pennies to school to get stamps in my little booklet in the effort to fight the Japs. Seeing maps of the war progress in newspapers and asking my Dad why we were fighting our own people (the Germans). His answer was that some bad people had taken over the country. Also remember rationing and ration stamps. My Dad walked to work so he could use his allotment of gas to go fishing. Milk and other things were delivered by horse and wagon. That's where I learned to "hit the ground running" as the milkman would let us ride in the wagon. I'm 71.

Parts of it dragged, but it has flown by. I was up in Canada last week with MrsO and bought a spot for us in a columbarium at Roselawn Cemetery in Maitland Ontario, near her old home town.

She wanted to be interred there and I have no problem with that. It's kind if wild to get to this point where you really plan for the end days. I'd love to make it to 85 or so with the health I have now. I predicted I'd outlive this board. I still stand on that wager.

I've been aware of the time going by, they say in the end, it's a wink of an eye.

For Wolfie.... and Mace.

I haven't been around for 70 years yet, but it's true that life goes by in a "wink of an eye". In another 20-30 years, you young bucks will understand what I'm talking about.

Thanks for the tune, Wags. Jackson Browne is one of my favorite artists.....and I especially like the Runnin' on Empty album.
