True Freshman to start at QB for PSU

Looks like true freshman, Robert Bolden, will be starting at QB for PSU this year. It's the first time a true freshman has started at QB for PSU under JoPa. I'll be rooting for this kid for two reasons. First, he went to my high school and I'll always pull for Eaglet's. Second, this kid was a UofM fan and RichRod made it a point to stop and see him when he was first hired and the kid was a junior. Then RichRod got involved with "OMG teh hotness" that was Devin Gardner, and dropped this kid. Nothing against Gardner, but I would love to see Bolden take RichRod to the woodshed and drive another nail in his coffin.

I saw St. Mary's was in GR last weekend to kick the shit out of West Catholic (Division 4 school, I believe) in the now annual GR Catholic Diocese "We'd rather have two uncompetitive games involving our two Catholic high schools in GR instead of having the two schools play each other as they have the last 40 years because our administrators are bickering over consolidating the schools" doubleheader.

I'm excited about Bolden. Wally Richardson started as a true freshman because of injuries...but the situation where Joe starts a frosh QB presumably because he's THAT much better than the sophs and he EARNED it...totally without precedent.

Bolden definitely looked great in the Spring game. The homer board says he's been great in practice as well.

I think we'll see all three QBs against YSU - but hopefully having taken this step, Bolden will step up quickly.

what do you mean by "drooped this kid?" you mean he was more interested in a different player and instead of stringing bolden along (no really, you're our guy) was forthright enough that bolden was able to pursue his recruitment more effectively?

i didn't realize being a fan of the university meant that university was supposed to recruit you.

Forthright is fine. Stopping all communication and not returning calls is different. Be honest with the kid.

Plus, I want to see UofM good again and I don't see it under RRod.
