Iowa-Iowa State

Post by Mace »

minorthreat: You up for an avatar bet? It wouldn't be the first time that Iowa State has pissed in the Hawkeye cereal bowl but I'll be surprised if they pull it off this year. I think that Iowa will control the line of scrimmage better than last year and that your A-Rob will find the yards tougher to come by this year which will force Arnaud to win/lose the game for the Cyclones, and I don't think that will be good for Iowa State. Jewel Hampton will also have a huge impact on the game and, along with Adam Robinson, will allow Iowa to control the ball and the clock. At least that's how I hope it goes down.

If you can't beat Iowa State this year, you should pray for your team's plane to crash.

I won't pray for a plane to crash but it wouldn't be the first time that ISU has won the game in what turns out to be a black mark on a great Hawkeye season (see Iowa's 2002 Orange Bowl season). That shouldn't happen this year...but you never know in an in-state rivalry game. Iowa State is well coached and Rhoads will have them ready to play...but I also think Iowa is far too physical for the Cyclones to handle in the trenches for 4 quarters.

With you being a Badger fan, it's not surprising that you're backing yet another loser.

Oh yes, Jon need not remind us that this is Iowa State's Super Bowl. No team plays harder than ISU will this weekend.

I mean with the #1 QB (Stanzi), #1 player at every position...Iowa State doesn't stand a chance...

I'll take the bet just for the hell of it. ISU will have to play mistake free to win. I completely agree about Arnaud. If he plays like last year, look for similar results. If he can keep poised and the O-line keeps Iowa's D line from rattling him, ISU will have a chance. I think ISU's A-Rob will still have a good day.

Sounds good. Loser wears the others avatar for one week following the game?

Okay. Good luck to you and your Cyclones and I hope this Saturday will be your only loss of the season. ISU has a killer schedule this season and hopefully both teams will come out of Saturday's contest with no serious injuries.

I'd like to take credit for running him as his second to last reply was to me after I smacked his ass.

Iowa has scored on their first two possessions and lead 14-0. Iowa State ran 3 offensive plays in the first quarter for 3 yards of total offense. Jewel Hampton's return has been just what the doctor ordered for the running game and gives Iowa 2 good RBs, and they're alternating series right now.

Okay, the route is on. Iowa up 28-0 with just under 3 minutes to play in the first half.
