How desperate are Drunk Erickson and the AD (forget his name) to keep their jobs?
They're going into their second game. Last week, they played a 1AA team from the Big Sky ay home (Portland St).
Man, how can they possibly top that to impress the nation? By hosting another Big Sky team.
Even the SEC thinks that's whack.
Especially considering what the rest of the PAC is doing OOC this season.

Re: Arizona St
They can be forgiven for this. Check out their schedule. It gets downright hellish next week.

Re: Arizona St
You make a good point, Goobs:
Sat, Sep 18 at (11) Wisconsin
Sat, Sep 25 (7) Oregon
Sat, Oct 2 at Oregon State
Sat, Oct 9 at Washington
Sat, Oct 23 at California
Sat, Oct 30 Washington State
Sat, Nov 6 at (16) USC
Sat, Nov 13 (25) Stanford
Wisky at home isn't going to roll over.
Even at ASU, Oregon will hang at least half-a-hundred on them.
OS will beat them in Cowtown.
No matter how bad the Fuskies suck, Seattle isn't an easy place to win.
Kal is gay, but has more weapons than ASU.
Wazzu looks to be significantly improved... about time (don't take me to task -- I may well eat those words with a bigness).
@ USC? Obamah puh-leez.
Stanford will run like a Mack Truck over them.
Good luck against the depleted Bruins and the perenially medicre Zonas.
Even with the two cupcakes, a 5 win season seems optimistic.

I still say they stole their mascot from that game show Press Your Luck.

i guess when you go on probation post-DE, and have any W's taken away....no one remembers "who" just the number. DE is smart, he's playing for his legacy.

""On a lonely planet spinning its way toward damnation amid the fear and despair of a broken human race, who is left to fight for all that is good and pure and gets you smashed for under a fiver? Yes, it's the surprising adventures of me, Sir Digby Chicken-Caesar!"

Oregon gets them next week.
Two defenses, one is much more valid than the other, IMO --
1) They had Central Michigan scheduled, who, while not a juggernaut, usually isn't too bad for a mid-major. CMU cancelled late. It's often tough to fill an open date on short notice, which brings up...
2) State-school cash-grab... and goodness knows, Portland State's athletic department needs the dough badly. Those bastards spend all their money on books and professors and shit. Ain't like they're the only school that supports their state-school system's little guys (sup tOSU).
When sceduled a few years ago, the OOIC of New Mexico, Tennesse, and CMU looked pretty good. Who knew Tenn would hit the toilet, New Mexico would transform from regular bowl-players to worse than Wazzu, and CMU would get a better cash offer?

Re: Arizona St
the only valid reason for a non 1a school to be on the schedule is that the athletic department is filled with pussies who want to get paid for a free win and have it count towards bowl eligibility and rankings. No other excuse is valid
