Nope, never had a TV. Never even considered asking for one or even buying one with my own money since I knew what the answer would be. Besides, the kids should be doing the chores.

IF would rather have the kids disappear than actually have to "parent" them.

No doubt they'll grow up to be self-absorbed silver spoon-fed trust fund whores.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

- Of course, the basement is now where I spend most of my evenings because it is summer.

- Come winter time, I go back out to the garage. Though, now that I have high def in the basement, I may not spend as much time in the garage.

- It is nice though in the garage when I watch a movie because I have my old surround sound equipment down there and I can listen as loud as I want without having the wife tell me to turn it down. .
Sounds lovely.

What chores would you have a 2 and 4 year old do? Only thing I make them do is pick up their mess at the end of the day, brush their teeth and on homemade pizza night, they make their own pizza. Both are potty trained and sleep through the night in their own bed.

Some of us have the burden of working 50+ hours a week and weekends are the only time I can mow the lawn, clean the pool, pull the weeds, fix the "wahtever the fuck is broken", clean the house, do the laundry, etc. Having the kids to watch a movie or play in their play room while I get shit done for a couple hours is an act of not parenting? Please....

Guess I could hire a maid and a gardener so I can be a better parent. :meds: When the kids are old enough, they will do their fair share just as I did. Pretty sure your boy isn't out push-mowing your lawn these days.

I didn't realize you were a single parent.

RACK you for shouldering that burden.

Dude... you've posted pics of your property. Sweet digs. If my wife and I can afford to pay for landscaping/cleaners (on top of the fucking ridiculous cost of daycare), I bet you could too.

Hey, we all have different styles. I have three TVs in the house. One in the living room, one in the computer room and one in the basement where I work out. I don't even have a TV in MY bedroom. I'll be damned if my kid is going to have one in his. He barely even watches TV. If I have to let him entertain himself, he has his toys and books to play with. They worked pretty well in the 4000 or so years before TV was invented.
