The images from that day will forever be seared in my memory, especially those who chose to jump to their death rather than be incinerated. I can't imagine ever being faced with such a choice.

Never forget, never forgive.

Van wasn't married then...and he isn't married now. It's an elaborate fantasy world he's created for himself to shield from the likely truth that he's:

A) An 700 lbs. shut-in
B) Deformed/crippled
C) Suffered a mental illness as a youth, most likely a "social anxiety disorder", probably between adolescence and high school graduation. That would explain his awkward presence among this board's women, past and present, his childlike view of morality and his seemingly stunted "adult experience".
Check it out for yourself. Search for any of his posts for any real life, grown up instances, such as "Some asshole keyed my car"..."My job sucks"..."I'm worried about retirement"...They don't exist.
No...what you get is the fawning of a teenage boy over guitars, motorcycles, popular events, fear of growing up in a harsh, adult world...rage against "loose women and low standards"...

But like the fanciful Mitty, he can spin a yarn about a beguiling first wife,
Angelina (was People magazine laying spread out at your shrink's office at some point, Van) taken so tragically from him, leaving only a bitter-sweet reminder of her love for him and the music they shared.
Oh, and his current wife is dying, too. Wow, some guys get all the worst breaks...
Van the "Merry Widow"...pray for him.
Someone call Aaron Spelling...I think we have a hit on our hands.

So, to fight back the tears, he come on strong in a really creepy, gameless advance to the ladies on this board...Yuhhh-huh...
Yeah Van, a real cocksman you are...

My money's on "C", but I'll throw in a pinch of "B" to hedge my bets.

You know I'm right.

I wonder what some of our resident atheist would be thinking just before that last step?
That they'd rather go splat on the pavement than be burnt to a crisp....and that their bodies are going to rot 6 feet under the turf, just like a Christians. Personally, I might consider converting to Islam at that juncture....just in case those guys are right about the 72 virgin thing.

Hmm... Why?

Van was always a solid dude here - Never saw any drama from him that I can remember.

Sure didn't seem the type to invent a "My wife died in a car wreck feel sorry for me" story.

I think dude was legit and Martytard is a douche
Van was an arrogant obsessive compulsive and delusional dipshit who attempted to strike up romances on message boards (probably for the reasons listed by Marty). I don't think anyone here can confirm that he has ever been married, let alone that he is a widower and now married to someone else who is dying. I suspect that Van is a 40 year old virgin who spent his day playing his guitar and masturbating after every online conversation with Annie/Katy/LV/you name the female. He's not gone because Wags divulged the story about his alleged wife...he's gone because USC is going to suck for the next few years and he won't have any shit to run in the college football forum. THAT'S what kind of guy he is, imo.

As for Marty, I find his posts to be far more entertaining than anything Van ever submitted here. That's just my opinion.

Never forgive who?

The seething neocons who orchestrated the Air Force stand down/controlled demolition/mossad agents dancing in the streets/ New Pearl Harbor? The guys who insist with a straight face that Hani Hanjour, the supposed pilot of flight 77, could somehow execute the most skilled flying maneuvers without having passed the simplest level of training on a crop duster?

Those guys? I agree, they should be tried and hanged. And of course we must never forget--or accept the ludicrous affront to reason and facts as posited in the 9/11 Commission Report.

Five young men set up video cameras aimed at the Twin Towers prior to the attack then where witnessed on top of a white van celebrating afterward before later being arrested and identified as Israeli citizens -- some later found to be Israeli spies -- with one saying upon being arrested: "We are Israeli. We are not your problem. Your problems are our problems. The Palestinians are the problem." They were found with large amounts of cash, a box cutter, multiple foreign passports, maps linking them to the blasts, a bomb-sniffing dogs reacted as if detecting explosives in their van, and when the FBI seized and developed their photos, one showed the driver flicking a cigarette lighter in front of the smoldering ruins in an apparently celebratory gesture.

WAKEY WAKE!!

C'mon you boring fuckstains, dare to open your eyes...

The Sept. 11 Parallel "Nobody Noticed"
"We know the ratings for Fox's short-lived X-Files spinoff The Lone Gunmen were bad, but this is ridiculous. Six months before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks — March 4, 2001, to be exact — Gunmen premiered with an episode featuring a terrorist plot to fly a commercial airliner into the World Trade Center. The climactic sequence actually shows the plane heading into one of the Twin Towers, but at the last minute, it's pulled upward and just misses the building.
Shockingly, this horrifying bit of foreshadowing was never widely reported until Thursday, when industry newsletter The Myers Report broke the story. How is it that virtually no one remembered this post 9/11? "I know! That's what I've been wondering," marvels Frank Spotnitz, who along with Vince Gilligan and John Shiban wrote the episode. "I thought, 'Nobody noticed!' I guess so few people saw the show. But it's strange too because that was the pilot and the ratings were actually quite good for [that episode], and yet, we didn't hear anything."
Myers Report columnist Ed Martin — who was tipped off about the horrific parallel by a friend — wrote that "this seems to be collective amnesia of the highest order. The final act of the Gunmen pilot, which seemingly made no impact last year, now contains some of the most deeply disturbing images ever created for an entertainment program."
"I woke up on September 11 and saw it on TV and the first thing I thought of was The Lone Gunmen," recalls Spotnitz. "But then in the weeks and months that followed, almost no one noticed the connection.
"What's disturbing about it to me is, you think as a fiction writer that if you can imagine this scenario, then the people in power in the government who are there to imagine disaster scenarios can imagine it, too."
Unlike the actual attacks, there was no suicide hijacker in the Gunmen climax; the terrorists attempted to remotely steer the plane into the skyscraper. "Now, ironically, one of the things [the government is] talking about to prevent [another 9/11] is the ability of terrorists to remotely pilot planes," Spotnitz says, "which was another element of our story. It's weird." - TV Guide (06/21/02)

It doesn't matter if Muslim nations are "tolerant" or not, unless you are living there. We have a Bill of Rights and Constitution that protect our religious freedoms but, yet, we have those who would target the religion of Islam due to the acts of some of their members, and an idiot pastor in Florida who is obviously not tolerant of their religion and, like some here on this board, is stupid enough to think that it's okay to attack the religion rather than focusing on the real enemy...Al Quaida/Taliban/terrorist groups who are Muslim.

Actually, 'tart, Americans have a long history of not being tolerant of anything different than that to which we are accustomed. The Irish, Chinese, Italians, Mexicans, and African-Americans were/are treated as second class citizens because they are "different" in appearance, language, or religion, so don't discount Obama's speech so quickly.

Our lack of tolerance is what precipitated these words during a presidential campaign....."I believe in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute.....where religious liberty is so indivisible that an act against one church is treated as an act against all."

John F. Kennedy
September 12, 1960

Yeah, there were folks who feared having a Catholic being elected to the nation's highest office, just as there were far too many fearing an African-American being elected. Obama's speech was spot on and something that needed to be said, now more than ever. Religious freedom is for everyone, not just Christians, and those of you who wish to live in fear of a different religion can either hide under your beds sucking your thumbs, or accept the fact that the face of America is changing and that we will survive the changes....just as we have since 1776.

No, you didn't identify which religious whackjobs you were talking about. The religious whackjobs on the right who think that their fairy tale is more believable than the Muslim fairy tale would like to take over the country, and they've tried, but are, and will continue to be, held in check by the common sense of the vast majority of Americans. A lot of folks have jumped on the bandwagon the douchebag pastor in Florida who was kicked out of his church in Germany for stealing church funds, but they seem to be nothing more than a vocal minority who like to mug for the camera.

Actually, there could not have been a more perfect time to speak of tolerance. An idiot pastor preaching hate of another religion and more idiots protesting the proposed building of a Mosque in NYC would seem like a good time to remind Americans to be tolerant and keep things in perspective, imo. Moronic Christers trying to stir up shit might get people to believe that Islam really is the religion of peace as opposed to Christianity.

Tolerance, of which you would appear to have none while you slam "idiots" and "moronic" Christians for having an opinion you don't share.
