I'm surprised the guy can climb with balls that big:

Re: This video almost made me shit myself
I've had jobs climbing crazy shit -- but never up to 1700 freaking feet.
Climbed a small radio tower that was on top of a 20 story building (and the work I did is readily visible on the Portland skyline). Probably only went up 25 feet or so... but once I could see over the edge of the building, it might as well have been 5000 feet up. And then I look out across the street, and watch the window-washers jumping off the side of a building, hanging from a rope, and didn't feel nearly as uncomfortable with my lot in life at that moment.
Fuck, I hated that shit... but it sure paid well.

I still am, and I'm not even watching it anymore. Fuck that shit is right. If that were me, I'd feel sorry for the guy below because I would most definitely have shit and puked all over him.BSmack wrote:Fuck that shit. I was getting nauseous halfway though that video.

And doing any sort of work like that is a pain in the ass.
Better make sure you have every tool you need, and anything you want to eat and drink (the weight of which you need to haul as well). And every tool you have (and your hardhat) need to be tied to your harness -- both for the safety of those below, and if you drop a tool, it's one long, energy-sucking climb back down and back up... and using tied-off tools usually sucks. And on a hot day, a harness isn't usually the most comfortable fashion accessory you can wear -- in fact, if it's hot out, it tends to chafe like a mofo. And if it's windy -- don't think towers and similar structures don't sway all over the place.
Yeah, good times.

They sway even when it isn't windy.
Then again it's never not windy
