Rack Team USA
Winning the FIBA World Championship (their first since 1994) against Turkey in the midst of a hostile crowd in Istanbul. And they didn't just win it, they basically rolled every team in their path thanks in large part to incredible performances from Kevin Durant. Can you say future NBA MVP? He's just 21 and I have a serious mancrush on this scoring machine. Greg Woden was watching from a whirlpool.
It's unfortunate that due to the timing of this event coinciding with Week 1 of the NFL, the accomplishment most likely won't get deservedly noticed.
Rack Coach K as well. The team is 49-1 under his watch and they play with heart, class, and dignity.

Re: Rack Team USA
Sadly, you are correct. Very few will notice this. It is buried under a ton of NCAA and NFL football.

He just signed a long-term deal to say in OC, you fucking idiot. Anything else you're totally clueless at that we should address? Who gives a fuck? If the US wins this deal, it's simply because they felt like it.

A bunch of blunt smoking homies playing without any heart and eventually getting burned by a hot shooting bunch of Euros. That has been the script for the last 16 years in the Worlds.jiminphilly wrote:What did you expect?

I'd still rather have Oden than Durant.

Of course not but talent will only take you so far if you don't play as a team. No doubt the USA team has always had more talent but very little discipline which translated into something less than a gold medal.jiminphilly wrote: So in other words, it had nothing to do with talent?
As for talent, other than Durant, this was the U.S. 'B' team which makes the feat all the more remarkable.

Please. You provide ample ammunition with every post you make. I have less than a passing interest in the NBA and even I knew Durant was signed to a long-term deal recently.Papa Willie wrote:Remora #2 chimes in...

Re: Rack Team USA
There is nothing remarkable about a bunch of over-paid, world class athletes doing what they should have been doing since 1994 which is steamrolling most of these Euro trash teams. Since when is playing to your potential something remarkable?War Wagon wrote:Of course not but talent will only take you so far if you don't play as a team. You know how when a thread gets hijacked and you, as the author of the thread, wish those dumbfucks would just get back on topic?
This isn't one of those times.
