3 UM qb's in the top 35. Mallett, Denard, and Threet.

interesting group from 44-47:
Jacory Harris, Jerrod Johnson, Landry Jones....all on pre-season accolade lists. Time to step it up guys--though I guess Harris gets some kudos for torching Wanny. I'm not that impressed with Harris so much, but everyone else thinks he's great.

Smart kids indeed. I see McElroy graduated in 3 years with a degree in business marketing and a 3.85 GPA, and is a second year grad student. Luck was valedictorian of his HS class and an engineering major at Stanford. Nice to see that there are still some legitimate "student athletes" out there.

Dennis Dixon was doing postgrad classes by the time his 4 years were up.
So, smarter guys generally make better QB's? Who knew?

Can't comment on Jerrod Johnson aside form his 3rd quarter against Florida International when he threw 3 INTs. The #1 asset he's always had was his ability to throw TDs without throwing INTs. Since they were down 20-6 at the time, maybe he was taking more risk than he normally does. No matter, it does not excuse it.
A&M will go as far as their defense takes them. The offense will be ok.

Yeah, apparently had he not thrown those 4 picks against Ohio State, Miami would have won easily.Sudden Sam wrote:Harris is not much of a QB from what I've seen. The announcers last night were bending over backwards to excuse his deficiencies. I think it was Jesse Palmer who kept on making comments about how great a QB Harris is, despite the shitty stats...especially all the INTs.
