Come on, that's King Stahlman. One of the great civic leaders in San Diego.

Better to know me, and not need me
Than to need me, and not know me

He's all over Padre broadcasts too. Guess it's the demographic he's looking for.

They went 2 quarters without a score, then go down the field in 90 seconds and score.

:pickle:

George Stahlman died by the way. You wouldn't know it though.

Looks like the Chargers took the water taxi to the game.

Wish I could have watched the game, but I was on the road between Nashville & Indy.

I'm not counting the Chargers out at this point. Special teams dropped the ball so bad. Rivers connected in the end zone 4 times in a row on a touchdown and 2 tries at 2 point conversions on 2 penalties. Who does that?

The Bolts just don't feel right unless they start out with at least 3 losses in the first 4 games. I figure right now they're right on track to win the division. You don't have Dungver starting out 7-0 or whatever either.

...again. The coverage units need to get their act together.

That's right. Nobody panics on the Chargers until they lose in the playoffs.

The Chargers always start out slow because Norv doesn't know how to run a TC. The old adage you play like you practice applies here. I believe Norv's biggest goal through TC is to get through it as healthy as possible, a similar view he seems to hold if the team has a bye in the playoffs. :meds:

What's disturbing is the low ball offer to pro bowl contender OLT Marcus McNeil. McNeil, a RFA because the CBA expired, wasn't given the opportunity to negotiate a long term deal, but was instead tendered a low ball offer of a little over 3 million. Why?

Perhaps Chargers ownership thought long term deals after the new CBA would be easier to swallow. What is clear is McNeil, like Vjax, will most likely be an UFA after a new CBA, and there's a very good possibility that he'll sign elsewhere. As for Vjax, the Chargers decided they weren't going to sign him to a long term deal after his 2nd DUI. McNeil is the bigger loss if he signs elsewhere.

Whispers around town are the Chargers are in the bottom 5 in player compensation for 2010. That ownership cares more about profit than winning. They're exploiting the no salary cap year and trying to skate by, all the while watching home games be blacked out so they can blame the lack of a new stadium. Then try to force San Diego county to either build a new one, or pave the way for a move up the I-5 to Los Angeles, assuming they ever get the backing there.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Not a chance. They'll do a deal. Mac just learned an expensive lesson in dicking around when you have zero leverage. He could have made 3 and a quarter million this season. Instead, he's going to make 400K. Jackson has even less leverage than McNeill. He simply isn't as good or as important as he thinks he is. Of all the problems the Bolts have had so far this season, moving the ball through the air hasn't been one of them.

They went through the same thing with Gates.
