The universe never ceases to amaze. Makes me all the more believe we live on a unique piece of it.

Possibly, and mostly conjecture at this point, but seriously, it's possible we may never know. Someone has/had to be the vanguard of DNA. Why not us?

Maybe you could launch one of those expeditions to explore the far reaches of space..you know one of those that takes about 100 years one way ?Jsc810 wrote:Unique? OK, maybe Unique in the sense that each Walmart is unique but is similar to many other Walmarts.
There are millions if not billions of places in the universe that are capable of sustaining life as we know it, and God knows how many more that support alien life.

I've read a lot about this. Even though we sort of live in the boondocks of our galaxy, if there were technologies at least advanced as we are, the area should be full of radio transmission. Of course it is not. It's possible, but not so likely that there is some other physical means of communication going on and we can't "hear" it. Sort of like the natives in New Guinea listening for our tom tom messages. When you get into the realities of physics, mathematics, and chemistry it looks like life would almost have to be carbon based. When understanding such things as enzymes, optimum temperatures come into play. I'd love to have a conversation about all of this, but Carl Sagan is not a poster here.
Than again there may be a T1B out in some way distant galaxy or even another universe and they are thinking the same thing.

Those pictures are fantastic. I can't get enough of great space pictures. Our solar system is more incredible than we know. As we are able to explore more in the future we will see even so much more that will amaze us. And even on our own earth there are huge areas which are unexplored when you think of the oceans and regions under ground. I think we will be even amazed when more of those places are explored too. Don't be surprised if things beyond your fantasies are discovered. Thanks for posting this page 88.
