Re: Chiefs Texans in Game
I don't think it really mattered if they had called the obvious PI on Johnson. The way they were moving the ball at will in the the 4th quarter, they just woulda' gotten the yards on the next down.

Did Gus Johnson rupture any arteries during his ridiculously over the top presentation of the game? Thank God CBS relegates that loser to its shittiest game every week.
Re: Chiefs Texans in Game
Awesome. I knew you couldn't let it go, Paul.
Hey, man, while you're at it, can you please give me your thoughts on the 15-yard leg whip penalty that was called on Rashard Butler? If my memory serves me correct, the Texans were driving downfield when the refs called that one, but had they lost the game you would've never heard me mention it as the difference in the outcome.
Was the PI on Flowers a shitty call? Perhaps. But if you want to blame the refs for this one, then you need your head examined.

Did he really say "he's got getting away from the cops speed?" If so, that's funny. Especially if he was talking about a brotha. Which I am assuming he must have been.
What's next week for Gus? "He ran after the QB like he was the last piece of Extra Crispy."

I love Gus Johnson. I wouldn't have watched the last 10 min of the C-USA final last year if it wasn't hearing Gus screaming his ass off while I was cleaning my place. Plus he's a Detroit native and a Howard grad so I have to rack him on both accounts.
Yes, Ucunt. He really said that.

Hey, Paul, what are your thoughts on the phantom leg whip call?
You can't have one bad call without the other.

I could bring up the missed holding call on Wards 38 yard TD scamper but I won't because it's time to move on.
Re: Chiefs Texans in Game
I know. I could bring up other calls as well, but Paul is fixated on that one call. It evens out throughout the course of the game except when you are dressed in Seahawk gear and are playing for the Lombardi Trophy.War Wagon wrote:I could bring up the missed holding call on Wards 38 yard TD scamper but I won't because it's time to move on.

There are at least eight Defenders that call this Board home, which is only about six more than who jock the Texans, yet you fixate on the lone bitterman?
Really?

Johnson wasn't going to be able to lift his left arm to make a play on the ball because Flowers had his right arm tucked over it.
So Johnson gave Flowers the push away.
Peter Queen, Paula, whoever ... who is crying about this call is funnay.
We most often see the "retaliator," Johnson in this case, get penalized.
In this case the zebra got the instigator.
Would have been best not to flag either guy, but I don't find fault with what was called.

Re: Chiefs Texans in Game
The second Flowers turns to see the ball Johnson puts his arm on his back preparing to push off. That's the only reason Flowers even touches him. If perfect coverage is instigating PI then the NFL is fucked. :Dpoptart wrote:Johnson wasn't going to be able to lift his left arm to make a play on the ball because Flowers had his right arm tucked over it.

Not trying to beat a dead horse, but it was nice to Flowers on the sideline giving that dumbfuck ref an earful for the rest of the game.
Re: Chiefs Texans in Game
I agree WW. To me it shows how much passion dude has for the game. I'm waiting for a fine to be thrown on him though.

Were I a HS coach and one of my kids acted that way, he would be running laps until sundown. It was stupid, reckless and absolutely childish. It reminded me of the Steelers in Cowher's last season when everybody knew he had mentally checked out of the game. Players started playing with no discipline and no regard for possible unsportsmanlike penalties. Haley or an assistant should have been on him like white on rice getting him the hell away from that ref. That they were not should worry you.War Wagon wrote:Not trying to beat a dead horse, but it was nice to Flowers on the sideline giving that dumbfuck ref an earful for the rest of the game.

Yeah, WHATEVER....Flowers had every right to do so. That piece-of-shit excuse for a ref basically ensured a Texans victory with his bullshit PI call. Re: Chiefs Texans in Game
Teams that give up 21 points in the 4th quarter don't deserve to win. The Ref didn't lose that game, your piece of shit defense lost that game. Flowers should have been getting together with is defensive backfield mates working on what to do in the unlikely event Cassel had been able to engineer a comeback. Instead, he lost all composure and acted like a jackass.Paul wrote:Yeah, WHATEVER....Flowers had every right to do so.
