Holy fuck! ISU just scored again and go up 21-6. Holding Texas to two FGs in about 3 quarters is amazing. Easy to see how UCLA blew out the Longhorns. If they can hang on for another quarter, this would be a huge win for Paul Rhoads and the Clones.....just like the win in Lincoln last season.
Another observation.....Gilbert ain't ready for prime time.
Stick a fork in the Longhorns....they're DONE...maybe too well done. Well done, ISU. Rhoads is going to be the right guy to get the job done at Iowa State, and it may not take him that long to do it. Props to the Clones.

Yeah, pretty amazing that they could get back up after the total ass kicking laid on them by Utah. Props to the coaching staff, I'd guess.
Texas has a chance if they score here, but man they are burning through playclock on this drive/ISU prevent.
edit: Horns score a TD on 4th and 4. 1 score game now.
ISU played Utah 2 weeks ago.

We suck. The defense is not bad but the offense is a total abortion. Gilbert cannot read a defense. He may have gotten by with these passes in HS, but it don't fly in D1.
OUMO wrote:I know what you are saying Mace, but the worst season in my life OU ever had they won 3 games and they beat Texas. ERG!
I'm not saying that OU is bad, only that Texas ain't very fucking good. I'm just happy to see that ISU can beat Texas when they're down instead of getting drilled. OU will have a better test tonight. Boomer Sooner!
i guess it's time to take DKR off those "toughest places to win" off-season lists. Gilbert will get better. i only saw the 2nd half but ISU's OL was shoving UT around. i guess one of the Acho's was out, though. but still.

My biggest fear coming into this year was depth on the d-line. We lost a lot. No excuses, they are all D1 scholarship athletes and they need to perform. We didn't.

Will this go down as one of the Longhorns' most embarrassing conference losses? It's obvious that the early season rankings mean absolutely nothing....as Texas, Florida, and Penn State were all seriously overrated.
My wife was pissed that Texas played like this against ISU (she works with some ISU grads). I pointed out to her that there is a reason that Texas only passed 16 times against NU. They had a very smart game plan against us, but threw it out the window against ISU.
Plus ISU actually attacked the area of Texas that was vulnerable, as opposed to our plan which was to go sideline to sideline.
