Love the way bugeaterfan qualifies every statement.

if we don't drop passes

if we don't fumble the football

if we pressure Gabbert

Well boys, you've already got your excuses lined up, which shall you use first?

I don't think they're making excuses, WW, but just saying that they have to play a pretty perfect game to win....you know, taking care of the ball and creating some turnovers on defense. Missouri will need to pretty much do the same if they want the win, as could be said for nearly all of the good matchups today...definitely for the Hawkeyes and Spartans too.

And, btw, if your aunt had a package, your incestuous relationship would have also been homosexual. Just sayin'. :)

Oh, i know that Mace. But since this is last the last opportunity for Mizzou and Nebraska to square off as conference foes, figure I might as well get in as many shots as possible.

Nothing but respect for that program and fanbase.

Gotcha. Your game has the same start time as the Iowa-MSU game, so I'm debating on whether to record the Missouri game or just check it out during commercial breaks. I'll likely just wear out the remote this afternoon, as I probably wouldn't watch a replay, given that I'll know the outcome. Should be one hell of a game. I picked Nebraska in my local pick 'em contest this week (no point spreads) based solely on it being a Husker home game.

Just a brutally ugly start for the Tigers. I barely even recognize this team. They've given up more points in the 1st quarter than they have in any game all year.

Just pathetic. Huskers did indeed come to play while Mizzou never left the bus.

I don't recognize my team either. Where did this defensive pressure come from all year?

Gabbert looks very rattled. No one's open.

I'm surprised we're covering well with Dennard out. With Blue out we have little depth at cb. I'm surprised about this pressure on Gabbert, we haven't gotten pressure like this against any of our BCS opponents.,

Hmmm. Maybe theJON was correct in his analysis of last week's game with OU, and his prediction for today.

borderline unwatchable.

And Georgia appears to be in the early stages of a melt.

I hope Zona/UCLA is decent, since those are my choices right now.

Mizzou defense finally got off the bus for the 2nd quarter after sleep walking thru the 1st. Nebraska secondary must really be covering good 'cause Gabbert can't pull the trigger and too easily gets happy feet.

Still a game, barely. 'zou really needed to close the gap a bit more before halftime. Looks like Martinez is gimpy, I don't see him as much of threat to run anymore. I don't know how Tigers can make a threat unless they can cause some turnovers or get some big plays on special teams.

If NU gets this to the 4th with a 2 possession lead, Pelini will gamble on Gabbert more I believe, when we've brought pressure the few times so far, Gabberts had to move and not been too effective. Plus we got him twice. Need to be aggressive this half on defense.
Ciante Evans on the island is a concern with Alfonso out. Mizzous missed a couple long throws that could have been caught. Glad to see Cassidy playing well, so far.

Why are we kicking off in the second half?????

The targeting rule is if you lead with your helmet and use it to injure. Osborne was clearing wrapping up and his facemask collided with Gabbert's. It's iffy, but I've seen a helluva lot worse that wasn't called.

I thought we'd win, but I didn't think it would be like this.

You guys have some nice receivers, but I was confident we could get some pressure on Gabbert if he couldn't find anyone open.

Nice job containing Martinez by your D.

I think you guys should win out. I think I may miss playing you guys every year. Now I'll have to find another team to hate. :)

The way we didn't do anything to stop Gabbert's running was maddening. Glad it didn't cost us.

Helu is a bigtime back, he just hasn't had the opportunities he had today.

I was really proud of the way Evans stepped-in for Dennard. Osborne played well too. I'm feeling better about the big losses we'll have in the secondary after this season.

Hope we can get TM back up to speed.

Good game Tigers.

One thing we know about Wags, when the going gets tough he's up in here, and when his team gets going he's class. Yeah, I said it.
I will miss this game each year as I really believe this is the series that in a few more nail biting years, would have lots of glamour in the Texas conference. The Callahan years lead up to NU sucking and Missouri was the team in the north that jumped into the driver's seat.
I'm kinda of an old guy (OK it's nearly official) and I remember alot of bad blood through the years with these two teams, even when NU was winning 25 straight. It's always been a tough game for NU even during the dominating years.

This race ain't over BTW, NU could still lay an egg at ISU or ATM. Mizzou probably has an easier road the rest of the way with that OU scalp on their lodge pole. Glad you won that BTW Mizzou fan.
That's right Colorado fan, you don't qualify as a worry to this 'shucker. Or anyone else I assume.

Truman, did you enjoy your day?

Absolutely, and props to you for saying it. Wags is here through thick and thin for his Tigers...it was thick last week, and very thin this week, but he's still posting. Props to him, and props to the Huskers on the big win.

For a partial observer, it was.

Sitting in a sports bar yesterday, we decided that when MizzouFan dies, he is sent to a special room in Hell that does nothing but replay "meaningful" Missouri games - for eternity.

Oh, well, fuck it. Props to the Huskers for gettin' it done.
