My Top 25
1.Oregon
2.Auburn
3.Boise State
4.Alabama
5.TCU
6.Utah
7.Wisconsin
8.Stanford
9.Ohio State
10.Nebraska
11.Arizona
12.Iowa
13.Michigan State
14.Missouri
15.Oklahoma
16.LSU
17.South Carolina
18.Arkansas
19.Oklahoma State
20.North Carolina State
21.Virginia Tech
22.Mississippi State
23.Baylor
24.Florida State
25.Temple
Close calls- none. Nobody else is any good. In fact, #20-25 isn't any good. This is the worst backend of a Top 25 as there has ever been. I was stretching for teams at this point.
Heisman List:
1.Cam Newton, Auburn. His to lose at this point.
2.LeMichael James, Oregon
3.Andrew Luck, Stanford
4.Denard Robinson, Michigan
5.Kellen Moore, Boise State
National Coach of the Year:
1.Gene Chizik, Auburn (just like his QB, this award is his to lose)
2.Nobody. Not that there aren't any other good coaching jobs being done out there, but there's really no competition with Chizik at this point. Dantonio was in this spot before getting throttled by Iowa, but it's Chiziks to lose.
Worst Coach Award of the Year:
1.Dave Wannstedt, Pittsburg (what else is new)
2.Butch Davis, North Carolina
3.Greg Robinson, Michigan (he's so bad he gets the nomination without being a head coach- and I love to take shots at him whenever I get a chance)
4.Mack Brown, Texas (not so easy when your offense isn't stacked with insane talent, is it Mack? UCLA, Baylor, and ISU- at home? Young or not, there's NO excuse for that)
5.Turner Gil, Kansas (I know they have little talent, but this guy is a bad head coach. this is the one exception where I might fire a guy after 1 year)
6.Brian Kelly, Notre Dame (just doing a horrible job and now his team has quit on him. What the fuck was he doing having a backup QB throw the ball into the endzone at the end of the game when they just needed a FG?)
7.Randy Shannon, Miami (it's just never going to happen for this guy at Miami. Time to give up on him turning it around)
Surprise teams:
1.Syracuse
2.Temple
3.Baylor
4.North Carolina State
5.Illinois
Disappointing teams:
1.Texas
2.Pittsburgh
3.Miami
4.Georgia
5.Penn State
Predicting the BCS Bowls:
BCS Title- Boise State vs Oregon
Rose- Iowa vs Utah
Sugar- Alabama vs Nebraska
Orange- Florida State vs Pittsburgh (?)
Fiesta- Ohio State vs Auburn
Predicting the Big games for next week:
TCU at Utah- Utah by 10
Alabama at LSU- Alabama by 7
Arizona at Stanford- Stanford by 13
Baylor at Oklahoma St- Oklahoma State by 7
Arkansas at South Carolina- South Carolina by 3
Upset alerts for next week:
None. I don't see any ranked teams being beaten by an unranked team.
Conference power rankings:
1.SEC
2.Big-10
3.Big-12
4.Pac-10
5.ACC
6.Mountain West
7.WAC
8.Big East
Biggest games the rest of the season in terms of conference titles AND/OR National title (with prediction):
TCU at Utah (Utah wins)
Ohio State at Iowa (Iowa wins)
Arizona at Oregon (Oregon wins)
Auburn at Alabama (Alabama wins)
Oklahoma at Oklahoma State (Oklahoma wins)
Wisconsin at Michigan (Michigan wins)

Baylor shouldn't have been a surprise if you do anything beside give yourself hand jobs while reading you own posts on this board. I had been warning the board about them this season since last December.

Arizona and Oregon St have the same # of conference losses (as does Stanford). Oregon St has the tiebreaker between the two.

Re: Post Week 9 Outlook
Right, but I'm projecting ahead. That is true right now, but Oregon State isn't going to be playing Oregon for the conference title at the end of the year. They will be out of it by then. Sure, if they win the game they would knock Oregon out of the national title hunt but that's true for every game played by all of the contenders the rest of the way and I'm not about to list and predict every single game played by every single Top 10 team.Dinsdale wrote:TheJON wrote: Biggest games the rest of the season in terms of conference titles AND/OR National title (with prediction):

Wouldn't be so sure considering late season surges is OS's MO, pretty much every season.

You do have a point but from what I've seen from them this year I haven't been too impressed and without James Rogers that really hurts.Dinsdale wrote:TheJON wrote:That is true right now, but Oregon State isn't going to be playing Oregon for the conference title at the end of the year.
