Army-Kent State
I'm so JACKED for this epic tilt I'm starting the game day thread early. If nobody picks Kent St, I'm changing my pick. Don't ruin this for me, dicks.

Re: Army-Kent State
was wondering myself what made this the must pick game.
I'm guessing that 88 doesn't like Neil Young much either.

Absolute bullshit. Everyone knows according to factual tape evidence Gov. Rhodes told the soldiers to fire. "Audible evidence" of a .38, my ass.

88, I was half kidding with my Kent State take. Thanks for the reset. It seems with as much as I've learned about the incident, I still haven't learned enough.

Re: Army-Kent State
Heh. I had just finished looking over the slate of TV games tomorrow and thinking how shitty a lineup it is, and then I saw this thread. Veterans Day or no, I'm pretty sure that if there were even a halfway decent game to put at the top of the Pick Em, it'd be there. But tomorrow is shaping up to be total shite. There's not a single game that looks more appealing than three hours of Black Ops.
BTW, now that I've said this, all those unappealing games will probably turn out to be super-exciting and come down to the final play...

It is amazing how Neil was releasing an album on average of every 18 months in the late 60s/early 70s. Unreal.

Re: Army-Kent State
it's nothing compared to the Beatles. they release Sgt. Peppers, Magical Mystery Tour, and the White double LP in 67-68. 4 LP sides in a year and a half with a dozen or so singles like Lady Madonna, Rain, and Ballad of John and Yoko in the mix.Screw_Michigan wrote:It is amazing how Neil was releasing an album on average of every 18 months in the late 60s/early 70s. look at a half-ass outfit like U2. Bono spent most of the 90's complaining that the U was better than the Beatles.....and really? 4 LP sides for U2 is 5-6 years.
edit: not only Lennon/McCartney....look at the Stones: Beggar's, Sticky, Exile, Let it Bleed.....U2 is lame.

Lived in West Point for 18 months when my father was a guest instructor there while I was little. Beautiful campus and scenery.

Re: Army-Kent State
It was a really cool game day atmosphere. My father took me to a few games and this was before they were really the suck; they were at least competitive back then. I was a tad too little to really be able to appreciate it though.Screw_Michigan wrote:Rumor has it that West Point is the most underrated game day college football experience.SunCoastSooner wrote:Lived in West Point for 18 months when my father was a guest instructor there while I was little. Why fuck me and why predictable? Kent is the home team and they're both basically of the same caliber. If anything, this game is a pick. All the rest of you dumbfucks voted on name recognition.

Getting to a game at Michie in late September is practically a religious experience.

I went through my Beatles phase, Spray. Good band, but I'm fucking tired of them. Nothing more pathetic than someone under 40 who is a "hardcore" Beatles fan. Wake up and smell the fucking coffee, for Christ's sake.Papa Willie wrote:Screw_Michigan wrote:Fuck the Beatles.
