Rack my Aggies
I had high hopes. I thought before the season began, we would win the Big XII. I did not think it would be under Ryan Tannehill's QB play. Jerrod Johnson dissapointed. And I am dissapointed for him. He's a true Aggie at heart, and I'm sorry he did not perform to his past ability.
I am surprised we dropped a spot in the BCS after beating t.u. on the road, not that they were highly touted or anything. The losses to Okie St. and Arkansas, both which we had a good chance at winning, really hurt us.
Even though I think we are the best team in the XII right now and will most likely end up in the Cotton Bowl rather than a BCS bowl which we deserve, I'm still proud of my Ags and how we responded after a couple tough losses. If nothing else, I have to thank Misery for bitchslapping us at home to get Tannehill some reps. Next year, here we come...
And I expect to see LSU at the Cotton Bowl for a battle...

Well, now, look who the bonfire fell on…
You mind explaining to us how a three-loss team that finished fifth over-all in the conference leap-frogs three two-loss teams and plays in a bowl game nominally reserved for Big XII #2? Or is that kind of thinking the product Texas higher learnin’? Regardless...

...he “best team in the XII” doesn’t lose by 21 freaking points at home. Go fuck yourself, Poseur.

You're as delusional as Jon.
Mizzou will bitchslap you again next year just in case you weren't convinced by this years result.

The loser of the title game or OSU will likely be in The Cotton Bowl, not A&M. I think A&M will be lucky to get the Holiday bowl unfortunately because they probably deserve more but there are a lot of teams with pretty damn good resumes in the conference this year despite what you might ESPiN say while they are swallowing SEC cock.

AtM came back in the end to salvage a season that must of have looked very shitty from an Aggie fan perspective. Props....but I'm still pissed over your gift at our expense. Oh well, here's to the CCG! GBR!

Ah yes, the granddaddy of the dot com bowls. A friend of mine used to be an Insight bigwig, so I've been to quite a few of them. It's actually becoming a somewhat respectable bowl game these days, with better tie-ins and a New Year's Eve date that coincides nicely with the Mill Ave. Block Party.Bizzarofelice wrote:three losses should mean insight.com bowl
Still, I kind of pine for the old days before they dropped the ".com" and it was played at BOB/Chase Field. Saw some pretty good games. I was on the sideline for the last couple drives of the Cal/VT matchup in '03. That was easily one of the most entertaining games I've seen in person. Here's a way-too-in-depth Wikipedia article on it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_Insight_Bowl
Then there was the time Notre Dame played Oregon St. and the place was packed with Domers. It felt like the secret was finally out about this obscure little D-list bowl game that just happened to be played in one of the best possible places to be in the dead of winter. The sad footnote is, there were actually less people there the following year when fucking ASU played in the game. And I'm still kicking myself for not going in 2006 when Taco Tech rallied for the biggest comeback in bowl history to beat Minnesota in OT. My friend went, but he left at halftime. Heh.
Anyway, sorry to slightly derail the thread, but if aTm or Mizzou winds up in the Insight, I'd definitely be down to throw a few back with any of you guys that make the trip. 88 and L45B will vouch for the Tempe Hooters, I'm sure.
And Frisco, if it's the Aggies, put me down for a couple bottles of the legendary BBQ sauce.

and enjoy Tempe.

Sad so many here think that just because this is a smack board, they lose their fucking minds when it comes to rational thinking (sup 'Zou?) on these things. When I said I felt we could have gotten to a BCS bowl, it was because I was hoping to maybe jump enough in the BCS to finish a spot behind Oklahoma. It was unlikely, but the Big XII "tiebreaker formula" states that if the #2 BCS team from the XII is only 1 spot behind the #1 team and the #2 team beat the #1 team in the regular season, the #2 team goes to the XII championship game. It was a longshot. Hence, I said we'd end up in the Cotton to which I was mocked.
So, as many always say, call your shot. Seeya in the Cotton LSU...like I said. (Oh, and the SEC team hasn't been chosen yet, but I called my shot on that Saturday.)
So...TrumanCOLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas A&M has accepted an invitation to play in the Cotton Bowl.
The Aggies (No. 18 BCS, No. 19 AP) will learn on Sunday which team from the Southeastern Conference they will play. It will be Texas A&M's first appearance in the game since 2005 and their 12th overall.
Texas A&M (9-3) enters the game with a six-game winning streak and a victory in the game would give the Aggies their first 10-win season since 1998.
Senior linebacker/defensive end Von Miller, who grew up in the Dallas suburb of DeSoto, says he is excited to play his last game "in my backyard."
The 75th edition of the game is set for Jan. 7 with a 7:27 p.m. Central Time kickoff.

Likely...lucky...probably...deserve...A&M beat both Nebraska and OU. I'm guessing The Cotton Bowl Deciders feel we deserve the shot more than the loser of you two. And save the excuse that they picked A&M because Aggies would show up. NUFan and OUFan would show up in herds to the Cotton Bowl.SunCoastSooner wrote:The loser of the title game or OSU will likely be in The Cotton Bowl, not A&M. Re: Rack my Aggies
I didn't lose my mind. At all. Over the past decade I have learned how these bowl thingees work. Below is the steps to determine what team goes to what bowl?
1) what conference is the team from?
2) how many wins do they have?
3) is the bowl location close to the school?
4) does the team travel well?
5) does the team have enough wins to warrant dropping the other criteria and just finding the team that will sell the most tickets? fuck all that other shit we need to sell some tickets.
I am well aware that atm travels well and is close to a lot of bowl locations. I understood that Big 12 #5 will get Big 12 #2 bowl.

It's not called ATM for nothing.
Poor Mizzou, they have to be so disappointed with a 10 win season.
They probably won't even show up at whatever minor bowl game they are relegated to and lose by 30, and who can blame them?

Swell. You pick cotton... And we'll keep whippin' your ass.
But to answer your question...
Why should I? The conference did it for me. BTW I believe “go fuck yourself” was MY line.
I
Know
You
Are
But
What
Am
I?
I'd be of a mind to offer you honorary Kansas City citizenship for such a balst, Indy, but then again, anyone who “barbecues”

As for that bottled puke you jock as “barbecue sauce”

Help me understand, Indy… You already got your dick knocked in the dirt by one SEC team this season… Why in the hell would you want to disgrace the XII by playing another? Seems to me the conference would send a team that at least knows how to beat Arkansas. But that's just me. Enjoy your gift, you jodhpur-wearin’ faggot .
Nice. So how does all that apply to the #5 team beating the #1 team? Or the #2 team beating the #1 team AND the #5 team (who, of course, lays claim to playing in the #2 bowl slot).Indyfuckstick wrote:It was unlikely, but the Big XII "tiebreaker formula" states that if the #2 BCS team from the XII is only 1 spot behind the #1 team and the #2 team beat the #1 team in the regular season, the #2 team goes to the XII championship game. Lets review, shall we?
BCS #9 OU
BCS #12 Mizzou
BCS #13 the Corn
BCS #14 Poke State
BCS #18 ass_To_mouth
Now, per the Conference (and without you cheatin'-ass motherfuckers meddling), here's how the Bowl schedule should've fallen:
Big XII Champion: BCS Bowl
Big XII #2: Cotton - (Loser of NU vs OU)
Big XII #3: Alamo – Oklahoma State (by virtue of beating Mizzou head-to-head)
Big XII #4: Insight – Mizzou
Big XII #5: Holiday – aTm. The only team listed here with THREE losses.
Yup. Still BCS #18 and Big XII #5. KYOA much, Poseur? Upon further review, our derision for you, this conference, and all things Aggie stands.
