Almost hit a hitchhiker yesterday

The wife and I are headed to town on the 55mph county road yesterday when we rounded a bend in the road and about a 1/4 mile ahead we saw a tall skinny dude with a hooded sweatshirt and carhart type pants crossing the road from my left to right. As we approached he went to stick his thumb out and as we neared and it was obvious we were not slowing down to pick him up, he lunged out a couple of steps out into my lane and screamed some profanities whilst stareing me directly in the eye.

After we passed, i turned to the wife and asked if we should have stopped in a sarcastic tone. She was a bit horrified that we had almost hit this deranged lunatic . I then went on to explain that i was prepared for him to jump out in front of us, as when I see hitchhikers thats the first thing that enters my head. The hitchhiker is probably not in the best stage of their life and at that moment I worry the poor soul might decide to end it all on the grill of my pickup. I went into further detail to my wife that it is not so much the killing of the unwashed that gets me, its the inconvenience of haveing to stop and pick his parts out of my grill/insurance/getting my picture in the paper and on the tv news for killing a homeless guy at Christmas.

Her only comment was that I have such weird thoughts.

Must be a U & L thing. Wednesday night the wife and I are relaxing after dinner, I am working on my coffee and Baileys. Hear this big fukin smash noise outside, and living 250 yards off this highway for 23 years, I know there has been another bafer outside. That stands for big ass fuckin reck.

Put the shoes on, stuff the .380 in the pocket, grab a flashlight and drive down there. Call 911 on the way down, and my neighbor deputy is right behind me. See skuzzy looking dude walking on my road. Call the OL and tell her to put the female Omega wolf dog in the house, less she eats the stranger walking on a country road at night.

Get to the scene, and see that a mini van crossed over the centerline and hit a full size BMW side swipe. It did not turn out well for the mini van, who's driver is screaming about some dude walking out in traffic and she swerved to miss him. OK..it is foggy, dark and this highway is good for about 28,000 cars a day.

One of the deputy's goes back down the road and catches up with the skuzzy dude, who of course is shit face drunk and gets a ride to detox. Bitch in the mini van gets the cite for failure to maintain a lane, since she did not want to lay dude out on the highway. :doh: :doh:

So I am coming home last night, and same dude is ambling, strolling, slowwwwlly across the high way and about causes another big ass fuckin reck. So I stop and jack dude up since he is on my road, and he is of course shit face drunk, harmless so I call 50 again. Come get this hazard drunk bastard off the street. He got another ride to detox. At that rate he is going he is going to eat the front end of a Kenworth log truck and that will take care of the problem once and for all.

WEST LINN, Ore. -- West Linn Police arrested a woman earlier this week after called police to ask for a ride. That in itself is not a crime, but police quickly found out when they contacted her that she had just burglarized a home and a car.

Zannish Schmeka Frazier, 28, called the West Linn Police at 7:04 p.m. on Dec. 15 and told them she was cold, wet, scared and stranded at Sunset Park. She asked for a ride to the closest transit center so she could take the bus to her mother's home.

Sergeants Mike Boyd and Neil Hennelly responded and contacted Frazier. When they arrived, the two police officers noticed she had several duffel bags with her. Frazier told police she had a fight with her boyfriend and got kicked out. After running Frazier's background information, they learned she had a warrant for her arrest and put her in the Clackamas County Jail for a probation violation warrant on a third-degree theft.

Due to jail policies, prisoners are not allowed to bring much property to the jail; excess property is held by the arresting agency for safekeeping. Due to the size of the bags, both Sergeants had some of them in their patrol vehicles.

The case wasn't closed, though. At 8:32 p.m. Dec. 16, the West Linn Police received a call from a woman saying that her home in the 2200 block of Charman Street had been broken into while she was gone. After checking through the residence, police asked for specific descriptions of any types of bags that may have been taken during the burglary that could have been used to haul away property.

The victim was able to describe a specific duffel bag that was missing from her home. The bag matched one that police had removed from Frazier. The victim positively identified the bag as the one that was stolen.

Police later found a car had been reportedly broken into in the 4400 block of Grant Street -- roughly 200 feet from the scene of the burglary -- just before 6 p.m. Police checked the stolen property list from the car prowl and it listed a very specific black duffle bag that police had just brought into the West Linn Police Department after it was removed from Frazier.

In addition to the probation violation warrant, Frazier was charged with the crimes of first-degree burglary, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and second-degree theft.

Items taken from the homeowner included laptop computers, jewelry, and women's clothes. The items taken from the car prowl included a large duffel bag, GPS units, and a small note with a measurement on it. All of those items were recovered.

"This case was brought to a rapid conclusion thanks to a lucky circumstance, and good police work," said west Linn Police Chief Terry Timeus. "It was helped by both victims giving very detailed descriptions of the items they were missing."

Damn, she sure baited those cops... Zannish Schmeka has some serious BODE.

I'm no master sled captain, but jetsleds don't have a tiller, or even something in the shape of one, like an outboard or an I/O. Only steering they got -- a big blast out of the pump, which kind of requires hitting the freaking gas.

Dude needed to apply a verrry hard right turn and immediate blast of power right after his jink to the left..and lucky for him that was a modified V hull, which gives him a bit of a rake in the water, had that been a full flat bottom sled, dude would have been in Luther's back yard, way up and over the bank...liked his comment " Dude, we hit a fucking rock !"
