I would have him run (and fund) a pet rescue program. I would stipulate that if he was caught abusing any of these animals, he'd be put away for a at least 10 years which would be long enough to ensure he never ade another dime playing football.

Are we asking the question from a legal perspective, or from a moral perspective? Because my answer is different, depending.

From a legal perspective, he shouldn't be allowed to own a pet while he's under parole supervision. If the parole board did not include that as a condition of parole, shame on them. Once his parole supervision ends, though, he's free, at least from a legal standpoint, to do anything that wouldn't otherwise be unlawful.

From strictly a moral standpoint, I don't think he should. Then again, that's just my personal opinion, and there's no way to force it on him.

For the record I would hope Vick is never able to own a dog, cat or any four legged pet ever again. That being said, I don't see where animals are granted the same rights as humans. I would hope Vick would back off this absurd request and instead use it as a valuable teaching lesson to his kids as to why animal cruelty is wrong. I doubt it.

I also wish he would learn how to read where a blitz is coming from.

They're not in any way related since there is no equal protection under the law. But to make sure my own my own person view point on the matter was clear I started with
