Auburn/Eugene Riot Potential

Can't speak for Auburn, but a week from today this neighborhood will no longer exist:

Oregon is going to show the world why they are considered the worst fan base in the Pac.
Having taken my wife and sons to games at Eugene and at Auburn, the Auburn fans were far more civilized before, during and after the game

Sure they would -- just hire Slick Rick.

And that isn't prevelent in the PAC -- it's an Oregon/UDub thing... OK, it's a UDub thing, but they save their worst behavior for Oregon. Same thing in hoops.

And BTW-Eugene riots aren't "traditional" riots, as in crazy violent crowds running amok -- they stem from the Eugene populace drinking way too much on an occasion.

They were that way when we played them a few years ago.

We don't have serious probs with fans down here...even the famously ill-mannered LSU fans ain't all that bad.
I found LSU fans to be quite pleasant.

One could surmise that with all the cannibus wafting through the air that many would just curl up somewhere and behold the spectacle...

Auburn or Oregon?

As a general rule, Duckfan is extremely courteous to the opposing fans, especially in Eugene... actually look forward to offering them hospitality...

Unless you're a dickface wearing purple (there's a reason that started, wayyyyy before my time in the PCC days, and I won't Dinsdale it up explaining it right now, except to say "they started it").

And as much as I'd like to attend more games than I do (shamefully, zero this year), everyone is nice as fuck who comes to Eugene... they still speak kindly of the Wisky fans, and that's been about a decade. Hell, I hung out with a huge Boise State crowd after they humiliated us, and it was all good.

But... Kalfan is an arrogant prick. I guess winning 19 straight swells the head or something. USC fan ain't much better (albeit secondhand information, never seen the Toes).

Sheepfucker has definitely toned dopwn their act in a major way -- I rarely hear them pride themselves on their ability to spit on opposing players anymore (although I did hear a reference this last season). Parker/Reser is kinda fun in that regard, since you're close enough to loogie (haven't been since the remodel, I'm sure it hasn't changed -- small stadium, and you're sitting right the fuck there if you get good seats).

As far as DuhO and UDub -- remember, the U&L might as well be an island nation. There's two major cities, isolated by all kinds of mountains, rivers, and everything else. As such, it breeds some nasty shit between the two cities, but generally only in sports* (where such silliness is appropriate). While U of O is 100 miles from Portland, Portland is where the fanbase is.

But all in all, it's pretty cordial. Opposing gear generally gets invited for a bite and a beer to the tailgate.

Funny thing, that -- get caught cracking a brew, and you're in deep shit, and better get your charm on quickly to stay. There's no such thing as "getting caught" smoking a bowl -- it's expected... hence the old "Gang Green" nickname, as in "Gang Green is out in full force."

So, in short -- fuck, I hate UDub. Gonna be nice to close their stadium with an asskicking next year. Only we won't dance on the logo.

* -- oldoldold joke -- Why doesn't Portland have a pro football team?

A: Because then Seattle would want one too

I was referring to Auburn, but Oregon fans were very cordial as well, even after they kicked our asses all over the field.
