HOKEMANIA!!!
Bullet points from the intro presser....
>This was Hokes dream job. He would have walked to Ann Arbor (his words).
>Refers to OSU as that school in Ohio....I love that.
>Pimp slaps Drew Sharpe (det news hack) when he insists the goal should be to win the MNC and not the B10. Sharpe says winning the B10 and not the MNC is a consolation...Hoke-I've got 5 B10 Championship rings and a MNC ring, none of them are consolation rings.
>Pounds the podium to emphasize osu game is the most important on the slate.
>Tears up when he talks about all the players he's coached along the way.
>Brandon discussed Denard with Hoke prior to hire. Hoke spent some time at lunch with Denard, he feels the best coaches incorporate the players talents to do what's best for the team.
>Tate is not with the team, not enrolled this semester.
>Someone asked what Hoke thought about Michigan not being elite...."Who says that?! This is an elite job, this is Michigan!"
>Hoke asked about fractions within the program...It's sad that this program has divisions...how dare us to try to divide what Michigan is.
>Brandon spoke before and after Hoke. He is likely the smartest person in the room and not afraid to let everyone know.
>He mentioned a lack of sleep several times...maybe that explains some of his cranky toned answers.
>He was asked if he had autonomy..."Complete and total autonomy"
>He was asked if Mary Sue Coleman steered him away from a certain candidate that she didn't like....That is comeplete bologna (he wanted to curse very badly here).
I like the hire. I want a guy who wants to be the coach of Michigan, Hoke more than fits that mold. He knows what Michigan was and should always be. He uses the old Bo/Mo/Lloyd buzzwords like enthusiasm, integrity, effort, repect, responsibility...I mean what could be wrong with that? I can't wait to see defense again. I can't wait to punch it in from the 2-yard line with a simple run up the gut. I can't wait to see field goals not only attempted, but made. It's hard to believe how bad the fundementals eroded over the last three years.
Go Blue!!
Whatch gonna do when HOKEAMANIA runs wild on you!!!!!

Re: HOKEMANIA!!!
Can't believe you guys ever wanted Harbaugh over this guy who, BTW, coached the best team in Southern California in 2010 (4 plays away from playing for the MNC).

Let's be honest here: Brandon only brought him in because he's a legacy.

Re: HOKEMANIA!!!
Ok, I couldn't get through the whole thing, but thoughts from what I did see:
-Brandon's arrogance and condescension is pretty nauseating. AA is the perfect place for him.
-Hoke really likes to reference "touching kids." He said it again at halftime of the basketball game. The first time, you get the point. The ninth time, things get weird.
-During the coughing, wheezing, and heavy breathing I think he referenced something about retaining the 3-3-5. Yessssss.
-Said the job presents no challenges. A bit of a head-scratcher.
-I hope for Michigan's sake he's less nervous on game day than he is in front of a microphone. Eeesh. Talk about uncomfortable at times. But...doesn't mean he can't coach. I really don't know a damn thing about this guy. On the surface he's just a fat guy with a sub .500 record. Maybe he's the 2nd coming of Bo. Who knows. Can't deny the man's passion for the job, that much seems clear. I do think it was important for Michigan to go after a guy who "gets" the culture. Or at least somebody who embraces it. And he does have one thing on DickRod - he isn't taking any baggage or drama with him to AA.

Re: HOKEMANIA!!!
now that my couple days of pretending i was behind les miles is up:

Re: HOKEMANIA!!!
since i'm on board going forward and have to filter everything on a message board into a big fuck you:
3-3-5 could work with the right personnel. remember, dickrod would spend 20 of ~25 annual scholarships on slots. if they didn't work out there they were moved to the defensive line.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote: -During the coughing, wheezing, and heavy breathing I think he referenced something about retaining the 3-3-5. granted, that sub-.500 record includes the first few years of his rebuilding project at ball state, not to mention on the road games against bcs competition. On the surface he's just a fat guy with a sub .500 record.
plenty of baggage considering his shirt size...he isn't taking any baggage or drama with him to AA.

Re: HOKEMANIA!!!
Maybe you should have listend to his answer regarding the 3-3-5. He inferred that people speak out against the 3-3-5 having no clue what it really is and should educate themselves about it. I include myself in that group. He was asked if it could work in the B10, and he believes it can/will. His DC at SDSU was one of the creators of the scheme (as RR was to the spread and shred, doh!) so I think he may have a better grip on it than Shafer or Robinson whom were force fed it.
