Randy Shannon to interview for DC job at UCLA
as per LA Times...Not a terrific record at Miami, but kept the program clean. Chow out as OC replaced by Mike Johnson who served in that capacity for the '49ers last year. Moves that he hopes will ultimately cool the hotseat he's on.

Rick may actually be hiring his replacement. After he struggles through another mediocre season in 2011 Shannon will be in perfect position to take over.

I've said it numerous times but Shannon was not the problem in Miami. The defense played well during his time there. Two years into his tenure the Athletic department forced Mark Whipple onto him as basically another head coach to run everything on the offensive side of the ball. Whipple had horrible play call, his QB development sucked (which was his primary position), offenses lacked discipline, and line was completely out of shape.
