Yep, heard this song a million times. Never knew it was Argent. Used to think it was Yes.
Re: argent: hold your head up
Been familiar with it and knew the band for at least 25 years.
Move this to the "Overplayed" thread.

overplayed is kind of the point here....i thought "cool kitsch" was kind of the Portland thing.Dinsdale wrote:Been familiar with it and knew the band for at least 25 years.

Huh?
If the Portland music scene can be defined by anything, it would be the opposite of "kitsch" (unless you're using a definition I'm not familiar with).
The word "innovation" comes to mind.

Re: argent: hold your head up
seriously? no way. you are the coffee suppers and fixed gear riders in Boulder..........it is kitsch. i saw the minutemen, saccharine trust, suicidal tendencies, husker du, sonic youth in the early 80's. flaming lips, meat pups....but you think, continually, that shit bands like the Decembrists make your takes indie allsome? truth is you are 2nd gen lame about real music. like Portland is, except for lesbo acoustic stuff. i give you the leading edge, there.Dinsdale wrote:King Crimson wrote:

please. you are so cool, that you are going to rip on Argent?
and even dumber is that you don't think "kitsch" isn't part of the Portland chic...

without the vitriol of crimson, gotta agree that kitsch is part of the NW indie scene. the scene is old so it was bound to happen.
why is my neighborhood on fire

Gee, here I was thinking that things are continuing to evolve, and just keeps changing and changing all the time.
But what do I know -- I just live here and stuff.
