I've been going through some classic Bob Knight melts on YouTube. Almost forgot how good this shit was. Here's a great one that I had never heard before:
He and Digger did an impromptu coaching thingy during College Game Day today with the Baylor players. Bobby's team on offense, Digger's on defense up a point with 5 seconds left. Bobby's guys ran his play (sort of) and got off the winning shot after the horn. Bobby claimed loudly and clearly that he got beat by "the chickenshit defense." Baylor players on both sides were LOLing.

Seems they rather just lay there, get fucked and play victim
I'll bet bobby hasn't gotten through a single fukkin' sentence without his favorite adverb since the second fukkin' grade.
Bobby may be the number one all time redass in college hoops, but, he can't touch earl weaver on his best day. earl has more weapons in his bag than "fukkin".

I stand corrected....it was Bill Haller, whose brother, Tom, was a catcher for the Giants.
Luciano died in 1995 from carbon monoxide poisoning....apparently a suicide. Weaver must have had a legitimate alibi.

That umpire was Tim McClelland.....and, by rule, he made the correct call.
Then why did the commish (who I believe was Bowie Kuhn at the time) overturn it?
Yeah, that HR had given KC the lead. They resumed the game weeks later from that point in the 9th inning, where Dan Quisenberry went on to preserve, IIRC, a 2-1 Royals victory.

The president of the A.L. is who overturned it....as I recall....and it was because he didn't have the balls to back the umpire who enforced the rule as written. The rule stated that you couldn't have a foreign substance more than 18" up from the knob on the bat and Brett's pine tar was clearly further up the barrel of the bat than 18". It had nothing to do with the home run and was a bad rule.....I'll give you that, but the ump enforced the rule as written. There is no argument to be made on that fact.

I'd say that it took more balls to overturn that call than it would've to let it stand. Seriously, that was unprecedented, at least to my knowledge. Overturning a call on the field after the game was over? Whoever heard of such a thing? Was that Lee McPhail?
Yes, it was McPhail. The whole story is that the 18" rule was intended to keep the bat from contacting pine tar and then having to throw the ball out of the game. The rule was to remove the bat from the game and there was no other penalty in the book for using the bat....which is how McPhail came up with his ruling to uphold the protest. Final score was 5-4 Royals.

It's moments like those that make the pathetic hours and slightly more pathetic pay of sports reporting worth it. He just casually gets up and starts throwing shit around the office. And even better, that was before the days of cell phone recorders and flip cams.

You are truly one of the worst pieces of shit to ever post on this board. Start giving up your paycheck for reparations now and then you can shut the fuck up about your racist blasts.

A great way to get a coach to go from total calm to insta-melt is to question his strategy or coaching iq.
