Well as long as politicians continue to prop up the broken, miserably failed form of capitalism headed by predatory and parasitic capitalists who created this shit, with taxpayer dollars it has YET to receive.....the outlook will continue to be bleak.
Let the banks and corporations trip on their dicks before the whole economy collapses and the shit really hits the fan. Fuck the CEO's and their minions in congress. Fuck corporations who exploit Americans and then ship their jobs overseas. Shit has to change and quick. Greed and corruption is destroying America

Sometimes it's refreshing to wash the brain with a different soap.
With all the horseshit around here, you'd think there'd be a pony somewhere.

Not that you'd be able to read or interpret the figures correctly.Papa Willie wrote:I'd hate to guess how "cooked" or truthful those figures really are, 88. Wouldn't it be cool if we could get the Feds to open their real books?

If you're going to inclued Social Security in this "analysis", why not consider raising the income cap on the payroll tax?

Re: 2011 Federal Non-Discretionary Spending Exceeds 2011 Rev
A number of things need to happen. We need to simplify our ridiculous fed income tax system. Top rates should go up some. Everybody's rates should go up some. NOBODY should pay zero. Don't even get me started on EITC. We already have a welfare system. Tax credits need to go away as well along with the home mortgage deduction. This year I won't even get to use my mortgage deduction because I've been responsible and paid it down to the point where the standard deduction is higher. You want more house? Why the fukk should I subsidize it? SS needs major reworking. Higher income limits, higher retirement ages and means testing. Yeah, I know, means testing ain't fair because it's my money. Booo fukking hoo. We'er broke. And what is more unfair is passing more of this crushing debt to our grandkids.
There is one tax that needs to remain low. Cap gains. If you raise cap gains too high, rich folks will do like john kerry and momma T do, put it all in tax free munis.

We no longer have a capitalist system -- we have a corporatist system... nice job at the voting booth, People.

So ridiculously simple, but no one wants to hear it.
Abolish the IRS.
I'll use Oregon as an example, since that's where I live...
According to the census, Oregon is home to ~1.2% of the US population (very rough, I rattled that off the top of my head). Therefore, Oregon should be responsible for whatever 1.2% of the federal budget, which the state can collect in whatever way the voters/reps see fit, be it sales tax, property tax (a violation of property rights IMO, and essentially declares property owners to be "renters"), income tax... whatever.
And so on and so forth for every other state, and however they deal with DC.
50-51 checks made payable to the Treasury.
I got 99 problems but the 'vid ain't one

Excellent idea dins, but, it will never happen as it would take power away from the whores in DC. It would also result in a bunch of DC lobbyists having to find honest work.Dinsdale wrote:H4ever wrote:Well as long as politicians continue to prop up the broken, miserably failed form of capitalism

Sen. Maria Cantwell, one of the most effective advocates for strong derivatives regulation during the Dodd-Frank debates, says, "I can't believe the first decision the administration would make to carry out Dodd-Frank would be an anti-transparency decision.
Let me say it as simply as I can: transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency."

Stupid bitch. Oh and good job fucking up the country when you voted for this lying piece of shitskinned garbage. You know who you are.

Not IN.
If you stop to think about your life, you can realize that you are taxed for virtually everything you do.
It's obscene how badly we are raped and owned - and yet we're 14 trillion in the hole.
"They" piss our money away by giving it to rich folks - and to fund bullshit programs, many (or most) of which are unconstitutional.
Raise our taxes? :facepalm thing:

I'm about tired of technology grants.poptart wrote:"They" piss our money away by giving it to rich folks - and to fund bullshit programs, many (or most) of which are unconstitutional.
Without a grant, someone either really needs to get their nose to the grindstone and believe in what they're doing, or sell their idea to an investor(s), who believe they can rake some scratch off smartdude's idea.
In the grantwhore culture, one merely needs to come up with an eloquently stated whim, and they're on easy street. The bucks will roll in for quite a while, assuming dude comes up with some cooked-books "progress," and sits in his (her) lab looking busy. These folks corner the market on emerging technology to an extent, and really need to be declared an enemy of Mankind (although that was never their intent, it was what they were taught to do), and done away with.
If you're good at the shit, you certainly don't need my money to get where you're going and rule (a chunk of) the world.

Getting ridding of the earned income credit would be classic cutting your nose off to spite your face. You take the working poor's EITC away and a number are going to say "Fuck it....I'm getting the ol' lady and rugrats on welfare, foodstamps and medicaid and working for cash" If I got to be the man's bitch living check to check with no chance of any savings or large chunk at the end of the year....I ain't fucking working... on the table"smackaholic wrote:A number of things need to happen. Makes more fiscal sense to let said family enjoy their 6 to 10K annual check rather than have the whole family back on the gubmint teat. How much you suppose medicaid costs will be for his fat wife and 4 junk-food eating kids? I think that guy deserves his EITC simply for punching a clock and paying for health insurance. Dude's probably barely hanging on the way it is considering the racket health insurance and medical care is becoming.
I understand some people's thoughts about "having some skin in the game" but look at the bigger picture. There's honor in what he does and he should be heralded rather than having anything taken away. Taxpayers are also saving money thanks to his work ethic.
Tax free munis? Offshore accounts? Sure...end them. Problem solved.

Let's see...
America, pre-Grantwhore Age...
Number#1 in every measurable aspect of society.
America, post-Grantwhore Age...
Falling like a rock, and broke.
You say I'm an idiot (in yet another desperate attempt to fit in with the in-crowd), the scoreboard would seem to say otherwise.

You are correct, 88. I am a huge fun of consumption tax such as that proposed by the Fair Tax. I especially like the idea of keeping low-income families exempt to a point. This system would enourage savings and heavy contributions into IRA's and 401k's.88 wrote:They are both government teats, but that is beside the point.H4ever wrote:Makes more fiscal sense to let said family enjoy their 6 to 10K annual check rather than have the whole family back on the gubmint teat.
Sounds to me like you would be a fan of the Fair Tax:
http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer? ... about_main
Back to the EITC....yea it is a form of government teat, but I think it is a much leaner tit than that suckled on by non-working deadbeats who "milk" the system.
Don't think for a minute that healthcare providers and hospitals don't view a medicaid card as a blank check/guaranteed money. They order up all kinds of testing and procedures as well as hospitalize patients who otherwise would be sent home with a script if they merely have health insurance and hefty co-pays.
That 6 thousand dollar EITC teat is a BARGAIN in comparison to the tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars that would otherwise be pissed away in gubmint housing, medicaid, foodstamps, welfare, etc.
Why do you think illegals flock like lemmings to the states especially when they're about to drop another snot-nosed anchor baby? Paco works in a factory and Blanca gets on the welfare roles and keeps squirting out increased benefits babies who subsequently bog down the local school districts with their ESL, paraeducator, and special tutors and interpretor "needs"
