Time to break this in right

Oh sure, you could most definitely argue that point.rozy wrote:Like y'all don't know...
I AM YANKEE FAN
Come on in boys, the water is fine.
Um, Tom. Arguably? 26 championships leave it open for discussion?
"Arguably" just sort of had that Ken Burn's kind of "Yeah I've been following baseball for decades and am a historian at the game on the frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field" ring to it.
Actually I stopped following baseball in the mid 1980's. Back in the day I suppose I was a Yankee Fan. But I'd balk at any notion of trading my Yaz or Rice cards even for Catfish, rookie Winfield, or Mickey Rivers.
Far too easy for me to jump on that bandwagon.
The Expos coming to D.C. afford me the ability to get in on the ground floor of something that might take off.
With all the horseshit around here, you'd think there'd be a pony somewhere.

Yes, JCT, I should start rooting for the Yankees..
I'm used to rooting for the team that every year seems to almost make it.. and at the last minute they break my heart... kind of like the Yankees since 2001 but last year had to be the worst..
up 3-0 over the Red Sox
Game 3
19-8, boy it was in your hands and I know you could taste it
but then like a ball through Buckner's legs..
The Red Sox exorcised the Yankee Demon
but hey I'm gonna see what it's like to root for the WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!

Let's hope you live for a long time.... and we don't have to change boards every time one of our teams wins a World Series!!!JCT wrote:Jack. I'm 32 yrs old. I have been a Yankee fan since I was 4 and sitting on my dad's lap and watching Chambliss beat the Royals in '76. I have seen them win it all in '77, '78, '96, '98, '99, '00. I can die in peace.
