Review: Carmen @ San Diego Opera 5/22/11

Good music and good singing (if you like that sort of thing).

Great seats (6th row almost in the center - you could actually see the performers' faces).

The woman who played Carmen was not your stereotypical 250 lb Wagnerian Valkyrie wearing a helmet with horns on it.

There were a lot of old people there (even compared to me).

I didn't fall asleep, though I did have a close call during Act I.
