Not a Portland band... and I think I'm only getting it stuck in my head because it's on the radio every 5 minutes...

Indeed.
Kind of like The Shins with an energy injection.

Re: Stuff that sticks in my head lately
here you go Dins, probably the bestest band ever from Portland... best singer and saxophone player anyway. I'd marry this gal. Twice.
Re: Stuff that sticks in my head lately
Barra Barra from Blackhawk Down is hard to shake. It really kicks off at 2:30, watching the brutha's dish it out to honky helps
Re: Stuff that sticks in my head lately
Can't stand this song, but it's been stuck in my head most of the fucking day.
Oh yeah, this one was with me too.
It was a strange day.

Uhm, no. But Seafood Mama (changed to Quarterflash due to some copyright shit) was cool. I saw them not too many years ago. Rindy is till hot-btw (and still married to Marv. - I've met them briefly)War Wagon wrote:here you go Dins, probably the bestest band ever from Portland
best singer
Doubtful.
Not that I'm a fan in any way, and he was born and raised in Seattle, but realize the best selling instrumental musician of all time started his sax career in Portland with Jeff Lorber.and saxophone player anyway.
That would be that little Kenny G fucker.

Throw in Billy Don't Be A Hero and Seasons in the Sun, and you hit for the cycle.

Re: Stuff that sticks in my head lately
I miss the original Modest Mouse. You know, the band that put out Cowboy Dan and Interstate 8.
Broken Bells = Commercialized Shins. BB could never write one of indie's greatest gems in When I Goose Step.

I'll speculate n stuff that's going to stick in my head:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTdP1MdERac
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IqH3uliwJY
And since there's no decent sounding vids online: A local classic... that you online wannabe DJs should probably 'right click save as.'
Those (and others) should have me singing and whistling for days, since I'll be seeing all of them tomorrow night... on the Waterfront... for $5 (probably about what beers will go for, but I own a flask).
It's like Portland band Hall of Fame night. Certainly 3 of the best live performers of the last 25 years. No one works a crowd like the 8's. They're old, and it's a faily-friendly event, so they probably won't be staggering drunk and urging the crowd to join them in removing their clothes (those were the days... and it usually worked... a club full of naked people is a party), but damn they're good.
And for being my age(I played in an all-star band dealio with one of them), the Daddies will burn as many alories as any band of 20-somethings out there... or they sure di the last time I saw them a few years back.
And Dr. T is... Dr T. Freaking brilliant.

But all the same, not pleasant. The daily strain of the world we live in and the ever changing bad news: soldiers and recent HS grads dying; people running scared; the govenments failure to put on a happy face; buzzards and crows making their witness in the neighborhood more often.
Something's not right and it's finding us with little effort.
I think you know the answer to this one Tardd:
