TP will not serve his suspension. He follows JT out of town. I eagerly await the rally at his apt where he promises victory in AA.

I bet he takes his "borrowed" whips and gets the hell out Columbus before an accident happens.WolverineSteve wrote:I eagerly await the rally at his apt where he promises victory in AA.
I laughed but you could see this coming. The Tressel exit was more of a surprise.
This will at least benefit the nuts this year...Bauserman or whomever can go into the season knowing he's the man.

i'd feel bad for their fans since sucks to have no say while someone else royally fucks with something you love, but they've been insufferable pricks the last ten years, so fuck them too.
actually, joking, at least w/r/t to the osu guys here. they could have been complete assholes about 9-1 but have refrained, though perhaps that's a symptom of boredom more than anything else.

Now it appears that Pryor had been selling his autographs and making thousands of dollars a week doing so. Rumor is that the money was paid to him by check.

Toejam...reading comprehension must be the suck...nowhere in the article does it say check...just wanted to get that out of the way...
Now...I really don't know what to believe anymore...seriously...was it a couple rogue kids (Pryor, and the other 4) that thought because they were BMOC they could get away with it? Did compliance, etc know about this? I mean I haven't a clue and won't even venture a guess...the chips will fall where they may...
the only thing I really tire of is anonymous sources or pussy's who won't be named or show their face...fuck that...show us who you are and provide PROOF that is all I ask...if there is proof and the wrong doings are verified then punishment is warranted and should be given to the fullest extent...
and seriously Toejam...if you think 100 ship reduction...uh sure pal...even over 4 years that is 25 per year...basically saying you can bring in no one...seriously...really...i know you so badly want all schools punished worse than USC...but holy shit have some logic...don't you have a new dojo to go open under the Cobra Kai name?

Re: Tattooligan quits
Not saying I condone Pryor breaking NCAA rules, especially since he probably did so without caring one iota about the consequences to his school.
But taking a step back from all this, I can't really blame the guy for walking away. I imagine the media circus around him and his family is a little much for a 20 year old kid to be dealing with. If he were caught dealing drugs or beating his girlfriend or *murdering people, he would no doubt deserve all the negative attention. But he sold some of his stuff for cash. Probably drove around in some nice cars. And yes, had a strong sense of entitlement. Does this really warrant all the negative publicity on a national level?
Good for him, wish him the best.

You serious, Clark? As you stated, there is no bigger fan of Terelle Pryor than Terelle Pryor. The day after his coach resigned and a story came out linking football players (including him) to many things, including driving cars obtained under questionable circumstances, he shows up to a players only meeting driving a brand new car and waves to the media. He doesn’t give a fuck about what is going on, and he doesn’t give a fuck about Ohio State. As soon as his security blanket (Tressel) was taken away, he ran like a little bitch. He cheated (allegedly), he got paid (allegedly) and now he’s flipping OSU the double bird on the way out and you wish him nothing but the best? This guy is one of the main reasons OSU is staring down the barrel of the NCAA’s loaded bazooka. He brought every part of this on himself. Yes, he deserves everything that is coming his way and more.L45B wrote:But taking a step back from all this, I can't really blame the guy for walking away. If Talbot did pay him with checks, I hope the IRS crawls so far up Pryor’s ass that he shits yellow #2 pencils for years. Fuck this kid and all his ilk that don’t give a fuck about anyone but themselves.

Re: Tattooligan quits
He didn't meet expectations (which were through the roof) but he was still pretty solid. Won a shit load of games, back-to-back BCS bowls, and I believe he's 2nd all-time in TDs scored for QBs at OSU.Sudden Sam wrote:Recalling all the hoopla around Pryor's recruitment, and the excitement OSU felt when they snagged him...was it worth it? I mean, even if all this shit hadn't rained down, was it a good fit?
Was the guy even that great? Was the Buckeye offense the problem, as in it never fit Pryor's talents...or was Pryor just not as good as advertised? OSU was good...really good at times, but I always felt that they weren't rolling up the yards and TDs that were expected when they signed the kid.
Maybe my distant view is distorted somewhat, but I've always thought the Buckeye/Pryor marrriage never really worked out on the field like folks had expected.
What say you Buckeye folks?

You yourself just stated that there were probably just 4 or 5 bad seeds at Ohio State 5 x 30 = 150. I only want every school treated just as USC was treated, not any worse or better.
If a 5 year investigation only yielded that USC should have known about 1 player and his step dads transgressions and that 1 player earned USC 30 lost scholarships, 2 year Bowl ban and 3 year probation then Ohio State who knew about at least 5 players breaking the rules and failed to act on them deserves at least 5 times the penalty USC received, I say at least because there is "proof" that Ohio State knew the players were breaking the rules.
Re: Tattooligan quits
probably has to do with osu being traditionally loaded that qb's have to generally wait till their junior or senior year to play. the occasional guy starts for three or even four years and - voila - he's suddenly setting school records.Sudden Sam wrote: I think I saw something yesterday that Pryor was third in QB TDs...behind Troy Smith (?) and #1 was ART SCHLICHTER! That surprised me. Didn't realize ol' Art had torn it up that much.
pryor has something like a 31-4 record. considering most of osu's success came when limiting what he was allowed to do on the field, i'm pretty sure anyone else would have gone at least 33-2 (penn state 09, purdue 10).
in on the killian pile-on.

one would presume espn had something tangible to back up any of anonymous accusations before reporting on them. you know, journalism and all. i wouldn't go public with any accusations against osu lest the mob that just left tressel's house make their way to mine and burn it down with me inside.

Not sure if Killian missed this, or if it was from a different day, but the video of Pryor leaving the complex in his rig and not stopping for a right turn on a red light was pretty amusing.

Well to be fair the car is a 2007 with 80000 miles on it that it was bought for 11k...read what you will into that
Toejam...Sports by brooks...uh sure...how come espn basically took the story off their front page if there were checks that would be FRONT PAGE for days, weeks, etc...
you know I hope for Toejams sake the NCAA rules that the punishment of the original 5 is sufficient...then we can watch the board melt...
As it stands 8 of the 9 implicated by SI are supposedly in the clear according to their appointed lawyer...so really what we have is the original deal plus the "supposed" car deals (Thad Gibson's turned out to be legit) and this new memorabilia deal...
so yeah for my sake I want the NCAA to slap them on the wrist and we'll watch Toejam go TRIX and ban himself...

I wouldn't worry if I were you. In the end, SMU is going to be a closer comparison to what OSU gets than USC. Be that as it may, I'm pretty sure no one gives a fuck about what the fan of the team that cheated slightly less thinks is fair.SoCalTrjn wrote:USC had 1 player and his step dad who went rogue and that earned the school 30 lost scholarships.

I don't think it's out of the question, but I'd like to see them play a game first. I'm looking forward to seeing how this team plays under Embree. He seems like a hard-ass, which is exactly what those kids need right now. I'm just hoping Hawk didn't leave a completely bare cupboard. I bumped around that website a bit. Those courses are a bit pricey. Of course, they last several days, so it's possible to get most, if not all, of my CLE requirement knocked out by a single course (in New York, you need 24 CLE hours every two-year registration period, at least four hours of which have to be in ethics. So with a three-day course, I figure at most I'd need an ethics course on top of that). Truth be told, I probably spend about that much, or reasonably close to it, on CLE courses, but not in one fell swoop. When you figure in hours of instruction, law school is actually pretty cheap by comparison.Jsc810 wrote:And when you get out, realize your education isn't over. USC getting a large dick in their collective asses had as much to do with USC trying to stonewall and hinder the NCAA investigation at every opportunity. Just like in real life when the D.A. comes to an offender and tells them we have you pegged, this is the evidence we have so far with your involvement, you have two options: cooperate with us and we'll make sure you get a lenient sentence or when we convict you, and we are going to, we're going to make sure the book gets tossed at you. USC basically gave the NCAA the finger and told them to fuck off at every opportunity and the NCAA made an example of them, and rightfully so, for being blatant fuck sticks. USC only has itself, its players, and it's administration for the harshness of the penalties not the NCAA.SoCalTrjn wrote:buckeye_in_sc wrote:Toejam...reading comprehension must be the suck...nowhere in the article does it say check...just wanted to get that out of the way...http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/exclusive ... ryor-29745The NCAA violations were discovered when the name of the local memorabilia dealer, Dennis Talbott, was seen on checks Pryor was depositing in his personal bank account.

Constantly hear that argument but when the NCAA thanks USC for their cooperation in the investigation it leads me to believe that those saying USC didn't cooperate are full of shit and are trying to justify why USC was treated differently than any other school and cover up the NCAAs obvious agenda.SunCoastSooner wrote:USC getting a large dick in their collective asses had as much to do with USC trying to stonewall and hinder the NCAA investigation at every opportunity. that being said, NOBODY at USC tried to cover things up, USC was busted for "should have known", Ohio State had its head coach and likely many of their administrators in on a cover up, they even involved the Big 10 commissioner in on it politicking to allow OSU to play all of their players in the BCS Bowl. If USC said , "we looked at out boosters and our coaching staff and our administrators and none of them provided any illegal benefits to Bush or any other player" and that turned out to be true, how is that deserving of more punishment than "we knew our players were cheating, we covered it up so they could play the entire season plus the bowl game"?
OSU deserves a 2 year TV ban, 4 year bowl ban and 50 scholarships over 5 years taken away and an 8 year probation at the very least based on what they have been proven guilty of thus far.

Re: Tattooligan quits
Seriously Toejam you might be the best CFB troll ever...better than TRIX and Brad...what and where do you come up with this...
TV Ban? Uh sure pal...whatever...and you used SPORTS BY BROOKS for your check deal on TP...have you read anything lately? Uh no...there were no checks asshat...and now we have today's deal du jour...golf...yep...golf...supposedly according to these blacked out/anonymous sources some players played some golf supposedly with this Talbott guy...right after TP enrolled...and you know what it appears that they stopped pretty quickly after the summer of 2008...so why or how did it stop? I am guessing JT found out and put a stop to it...see I can guess and make shit up just like the media and lap it up and say it is gospel...
Yeah i am a homer and what not...but let's bear out the facts:
5 guys were caught...1 decided to leave school (TP) the others are serving 5 game suspensions
The coach lied...he got fired (yeah I don't buy resigning)
The whole car deal...uh yeah what else have you heard since the inital report? They had TP's newest car on record as being bought by his mother (I mean it's on paper and stuff)
The SI article that was supposed to BLOW the lid off...was conocted with 2 known felons and an anonymous source named ELLIS...after the article came out the 9 NEW KIDS named were interviewed by the NCAA...if you read the statements by the lawyer assigned to them...they are all mostly in the clear http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/sp ... ml?sid=101
The TP money making scheme (the lawyer is highly respected and is in fact the counsel for the National Fraternal Order of Police or soemthing like that in C Bus) http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/sp ... ml?sid=101
so here are some facts Toejam...and I still stand by the deal if they find people guilty punish them...PERIOD...but there are facts that refute all the bs you have been posting period...and yeah irresponsible reporting yeah go figure happens I guess...
Not too mention that a few of the parents have already spoken out about their kids being dragged through the mud in the SI article...as Dins pointed out if this is a witch hunt it's pretty sad...just face it...there will be penalties coming I don't deny that...but to put them in your order of magnitude is laughable...but then again when you run up the score on little leaguers i guess I should expect nothing less from you...
and for the record the rest of you...this is more meant for his feeble mind...yes people broke rules, to what extent...we'll see when the NCAA rules in August (the hearing)...I'll wait until they actually come out with something substantial and with proof...

Re: Tattooligan quits
1 guy = 2 year bowl ban, 3 year probation and 30 lost scholarships
5 guys = 10 year bowl ban, 15 years of probation and 150 lost scholarships at least. OSU deserves more than the simple 5 times USCs punishment because there is red handed proof that they were aware of the cheating going on and did nothing to stop it, they even covered it up
If the NCAA was concerned with being just.
You have to agree based on you already admitting that OSU had 5 guys take illegal benefits, unless of course, you think USC was penalized to harshly
