Fireworks laws
Been illegal in KC forever but seldom if ever is the law enforced unless some asshole neighbor actually calls and complains. Then the cops might come by and ask the offenders to pretty please cool it, especially the punks who are still shooting them off at 2 am.
Until now that is. Was sitting out with the neighbors last night drinking a few brews and letting the kids light off some pretty decent rockets, artillery shells and whatnot when a couple of cops roll up in a pickup truck. They inform us that they were part of a new task force out to enforce the law. While they seemed almost apologetic, the dicks confiscated the fireworks that were que'd up. Said if they had to come back they'd start writing tickets that come with a $500 fine attached.
There aren't enough cops in KC to enforce this though they might make an example of a few stiffs. Every year around here is like Armageddon on the 4th and this year will be no different. I actually feel sorry for the poor cops sent out to try to quell the insurrection because they know that we know that if they were off duty, they'd be at home doing the same damn thing.

Re: Fireworks laws
I doubt anyone called to complain, these cops were just riding around looking for people shooting them off. Not hard to find. In the 25 years I've lived here there's never once been a cop roll up over fireworks. I'll be curious to see if they come back tonight because I can damn sure guarantee people will be unleashing utter mayhem.Martyred wrote:Sounds like one of your neighbours has it in for you.

I wasn't looking for any.
Re: Fireworks laws
No, that's why you're on here complaining about the law coming around ruining your fun.

Re: Fireworks laws
Fresno city fire and law enforcement teams will be patrolling for illegal fireworks tonight.
People caught with bottle rockets and other illegal fireworks can be fined $1,000 and charged a $250 fireworks-disposal fee, said Michael DeSpain, deputy chief and fire marshal for the city of Fresno.

I stated what was happening here, interested to find out how fireworks laws, or lack thereof, are enforced elsewhere.
Now go shove an M-80 up your twat and see if you can get Marty to light the fuse.

I know a guy who lost an eye to fireworks (might have been some homemade ones...at least that's the rumor) on July 4th, 2010. He was literally blind in one eye and couldn't see out of the other for a couple weeks. Shit happens. Just like skateboarding and bicycle accidents involving childres....ban em?
"I saw a kid who broke his arm stunt-jumping his Huffy on an improvised, plywood ramp!" "Fuck all you people who support bikes for kids!"

After seeing a slut injure herself in a drunken stupor, I have no sympathy for you Trev.
Re: Fireworks laws
Because they can hurt innocent bystanders.H4ever wrote:

Re: Fireworks laws
When I was a kid we used to have a big block party every year on the cul-de-sac. Everybody brought food and a box of fireworks.
Pretty much of a fire hazard around here, though. Anybody would be nuts to be shooting that stuff off in their yards. There's a big estate in town here where they have a bbq and well controlled fireworks show every year to benefit local organizations. Fire department is on high alert.
