not that it's really important but one of the moronic features of the Dan Hawkins regime was after year 2 (and an Indy Bowl loss to Bama)...Hawk lands a top 15-20 type class. in that class at RB: 5 star Darrell Scott, 4 star Ray Polk, and an unheralded Rodney Stewart from Ohio. They also had a returning workman like back, good blocker in Demetrius Sumler, speedster Brian Lockridge and a local kid who Hawk raved about in practice: Quentin Hildreth.
in less than a year: Scott was overweight and in the doghouse on his way to transfer, Polk moved to DB (allegedly his request but most people think that was BS), Sumler was a good student, graduated and transferred somewhere for a final year of eligibility (tired of Hawk's crap). Lockridge has shown flashes and missed a year with injury i think....Hildreth is no longer on the team. Stewart has been the feature back for some mediocre offenses with mediocre OL's and middling passing games....and with a big year this year will vault up the CU charts and is kind of a poor man's Darren Sproles or Quentin Griffin. but, big year he could be difference maker. he's a good college back.
they also lost a FB who's name i forget in the first weeks of last season. was well thought of.
so, by the time we get to last year. Stewart is being spelled by a converted WR Will Jefferson who is also no longer with the team. in Hawk's final class, they recruit 3 RB
's.....one of whom has also left the team.
from stacked at RB to having a WR taking carries in 2 1/2 years without a single player exhausting his eligibility or graduating....courtesy of Dan the Man.
it's always kind of in hushed tones, but many CU fans point to Darian Hagan as RB coach as part of this colossal screwing up....and, curiously, Hagan was kept on staff when his buddies Jon Embree and Eridc Bienemy were hired...but not as the position coach. Hagan is the recruiting coordinator or something.

How dumb of a football athlete do you have to be to fail out of a SEC school? Didn't a UGA player recently score illiterate on the Wonderlic test. Maybe it's time for the SEC to scale back on those partial qualifiers.
F-You man, I'll never go to Texas. I hated Texas from that point on.
