Pat Travers

Post by Screw_Michigan »

Smackie suggested I check him out, during radio one night. Never been a huge blues fan, but I'm liking his stuff. Almost, dare I say, a progressive style of blues? Like I'd know. I'm just a MGMT fan. But I'm enjoying his shit. Life in London and Hot Shot are good songs.

You are truly one of the worst pieces of shit to ever post on this board. Start giving up your paycheck for reparations now and then you can shut the fuck up about your racist blasts.

Saw Pat Travers at a Summer Jam at Royals stadium circa 1977 or thereabouts.

Most excellent.

See "Out Go The Lights" Screwy.

Do you know anything other than the one Travers song that classic rock stations have played to death?

In all my years listening to classic rock radio, and those were almost a decade ago, I never once heard that song you refer to.

Around these parts it is known as "that Pat Travers song the radio stations actually play. Granted, even that doesn't get much in the way of airplay.

I would wager that Wags hasn't purchased many "eclectic" numbers from iTunes. It's all local FM classic rock blowtorch or nothing.

Out Go the Lights precedes Clear Channel's 100 song definition of classic rock....in most of their "classic" demographics.

Clear Channel classic rock is essentially the new post-Baby Boomer muzak.

I saw Pat Travers at Babe's in Austin in 1995. Great show. His other song was "Snorting Whiskey and Drinking Cocaine"

Didn't he do "Snortin' Whiskey", or whatever the song was called, too?
