Speaking of peaches, I found a company (Tree Ripe Fruit) that trucks Georgia peaches up to the Midwest. You have to buy a half-bushel box of them, but these are the very best peaches I’ve ever had. The fruit pulls away cleanly from the pit, they are chin-drippin’ juicy, and the flavor is spot on.

Regular peaches. I believe they were from Pearson Farms. I asked the guy if he ever thought about bringing back some Georgia sweet corn. He said, "What for? I don't own no livestock".

Weasel King running...UPDATE:
NEW YORK -- A law enforcement official says the FBI has opened an investigation into allegations that media mogul Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. sought to hack into the phones of Sept. 11 victims.
The official spoke Thursday on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly.
New York City-based News Corp. has been in crisis mode.
And let's be clear...no one is "hijacking "this thread, because that would entail actually changing the subject with a real discussion--something which I do somewhat regularly. This is appropriate when the initial subject has petered out--usually due to the weak skills of the posters on this palsied forum. In this case we've got nominal adults acting like bratty little kids...and why?....
Does the Murdoch teat so fill your mewling minds that the (very real) threat of its demise has you in a squirming panic? Or..are you just such little punky twirps that you can't handle any real opposing opinions--especially when carved into your soap-like heads with real skill? Hmmm...
Anyway, the subject of Murdochgate IS important and worthy of examination and vivisection. It's okay to be scared, but don't wet your bed and then roll around in it looking for the still warm parts. C'mon, you're (slightly) better than that.

Feelin' warm there , Dins? It'll pass.
Meanwhile, Murdoch is in fact a U.S. citizen and this complicates the British investigation of his nefarious activities.....what, you didn't hear about this on Limpdick or FOX News?
Murdoch will not face an easy audience when he turns up at the Palace of Westminster. The summons came the day after he withdrew his $12 billion bid for BSkyB amidst an extraordinarily united show of disapproval of the deal from all sides of the House. The chamber then held a debate in which Murdoch was scathingly criticized. Moreover, the scandal surrounding him and News International, shows no signs of abating, as yet another top former editor at the News of the World was arrested in connection with phone hacking on Thursday.

Re: Rupert On The Run!!
Of course we've detailed a variety of Murdoch's slimy activities in basic journalism but the Murdoch scandal is great news for those of us seeking a more open discourse on the Middle East. For Murdoch has maintained a fiercely pro-Israel line in his papers, and at least two commentators, the Arab News and Robert Fisk in the Independent, suggest that the corruption and sleaze of his London operation could have foreign-policy consequences. Maybe it could even affect the New York Post? (hope springs eternal.)
And of course his global reach wouldn't be so serious if News Corp.'s agenda was only driven by business interests. As with Fox News, sensationalism, jingoism and a campaign of lies and hatred against minorities drive this Orwellian empire. And unabashed championing of Israel, support for Western wars and persistent hostility toward Arabs and Muslims are the hallmarks of its agenda. Let's hope this scandal will finally help rein in the evil empire, subjecting it to scrutiny as everyone ought to be in a democracy. It's time Murdoch stopped playing god. Or at least get nailed on a cross!! :D

Re: Rupert On The Run!!
Here's an insider to the Murdoch empire coming clean ...
In the Independent, Robert Fisk tells amazing tales of why he had to leave the Times under Murdoch, and says Murdoch is as bad as any charge westerners lodge against Arab authoritarians...
Murdoch was owner of The Times when I covered the blood-soaked Israeli invasion and occupation of Lebanon in 1982. Not a line was removed from my reports, however critical they were of Israel. After the invasion, Douglas-Home and Murdoch were invited by the Israelis to take a military helicopter trip into Lebanon. The Israelis tried to rubbish my reporting; Douglas-Home said he stood up for me. On the flight back to London, Douglas-Home and Murdoch sat together. "I knew Rupert was interested in what I was writing," he told me later. "He sort of waited for me to tell him what it was, although he didn't demand it. I didn't show it to him."
But things changed. Before he was editor, Douglas-Home would write for the Arabic-language Al-Majella magazine, often deeply critical of Israel. Now his Times editorials took an optimistic view of the Israeli invasion. He stated that "there is now no worthy Palestinian to whom the world can talk" and – for heaven's sake – that "perhaps at last the Palestinians on the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip will stop hoping that stage-strutters like Mr Arafat can rescue them miraculously from doing business with the Israelis."
All of which, of course, was official Israeli government policy at the time.
Then, in the spring of 1983, another change. I had, with Douglas-Home's full agreement, spent months investigating the death of seven Palestinian and Lebanese prisoners of the Israelis in Sidon. It was obvious, I concluded, that the men had been murdered – the grave-digger even told me that their corpses had been brought to him, hands tied behind their backs, showing marks of bruising. But now Douglas-Home couldn't see how we would be "justified" in running a report "so long after the event".
In other words, the very system of investigative journalism – of fact-checking and months of interviews – became self-defeating. When we got the facts, too much time had passed to print them. I asked the Israelis if they would carry out a military inquiry and, anxious to show how humanitarian they were, they duly told us there would be an official investigation. The Israeli "inquiry" was, I suspected, a fiction. But it was enough to "justify" publishing my long and detailed report. Once the Israelis could look like good guys, Douglas-Home's concerns evaporated....
I don't believe Murdoch personally interfered in any of the above events. He didn't need to. He had turned The Times into a tame, pro-Tory, pro-Israeli paper shorn of all editorial independence. If I hadn't been living in the Middle East, of course, it might have taken me longer to grasp all this.
But I worked in a region where almost every Arab journalist knows the importance of self-censorship – or direct censorship – and where kings and dictators do not need to give orders. They have satraps and ministers and senior police officers – and "democratic" governments – who know their wishes, their likes and dislikes. And they do what they believe their master wants. Of course, they all told me this was not true and went on to assert that their king/president was always right.
Read this and start getting into it. This is VERY good shit happening. Don't keep your heads down like little poopy kids with a load in yer pants.

Here's the Weasel King himself, braying to the ADL his fealty for the fake apartheid state last year..
Back in 2002 the president of Harvard, Larry Summers, put it this way: “Where anti-Semitism and views that are profoundly anti-Israeli have traditionally been the primary preserve of poorly educated right-wing populists, profoundly anti-Israel views are increasingly finding support in progressive intellectual communities. Serious and thoughtful people are advocating and taking actions that are anti-Semitic in their effect if not their intent.”
Amazingly, he cites Larry Summers, one of the most robustly clueless captains of calamity in the past twenty years.

Re: Rupert On The Run!!
CNN) -- Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is urging observers not to rush to judgment about mogul Rupert Murdoch over the alleged hacking scandal embroiling his News Corp. media empire.
"Give people the presumption of innocence," Giuliani told CNN's Candy Crowley in New Hampshire on Thursday. "I think that just how high up it goes is a big question and one we shouldn't be jumping to conclusions about."
Murdoch and Giuliani are longtime friends.
Murdoch attended the former mayor's wedding in 2003, and endorsed him in the 1993 mayoral race.
Also, a law and lobbying firm in which Giuliani is partner received $100,000 in lobbying fees from News Corp. in 2005, according to congressional disclosure filings.
Giuliani said he's not spoken to Murdoch, but will see him soon.
"I'll probably see him at some point in the next couple of days or week," he said. "I see him all the time at various functions."
Giuliani maintained confidence in his longtime friend despite allegations that the News of the World tabloid may have hacked the phones of September 11, 2001, terror attack victims in New York City. Giuliani was mayor of the city at the time of the attacks.
"He's a very honorable, honest man," the former mayor said. "This can't be something that he would have anything to do with."
News of the World, a 168-year-old British newspaper owned by Murdoch, folded over the weekend in the wake of accusations that its reporters illegally eavesdropped on the phone messages of murder and terrorist victims, politicians and celebrities.
United Kingdom authorities have identified almost 4,000 potential targets of phone hacking.
The accusations have triggered a backlash in the U.S. and Britain, with the FBI launching an investigation into Murdoch's News Corp. after reports that employees may have attempted to hack phones of 9/11 survivors, victims and their families, a federal law enforcement source told CNN.
News Corp. said it had no comment on the FBI investigation or the possibility of congressional hearings.
Murdoch and his son, James, will attend a hearing before British lawmakers Tuesday, according to their company, News International.
If the company is involved in phone hacking, it should be brought to justice, according to Giuliani.
"They should have the common sense to know you cannot intercept telephone calls," Giuliani said. "That's a federal felony and a serious one in the United States, and I'm pretty darn sure it is pretty darn serious in England too."
In an interview published Thursday by the Wall Street Journal, which is owned by News Corp., the elder Murdoch said the company would establish an independent committee led by a nonemployee to probe "every charge of improper conduct."
A 60-year-old man was arrested in connection with the probe, London police said Thursday, the seventh person so far in the investigation.
The former mayor is traveling through New Hampshire this week as he contemplates a run for the White House-a decision he said he'll have by the end of summer.

Sean Hoare, 47, who accused his former editor, Andy Coulson, of complicity in the illegal activity, was discovered at his home days after he made a series of fresh allegations against executives under whom he worked.
"Do I want to go...swimming?..in the middle of the night?...Hey, who are you guys!!...aaahh"

Mr Hoare, who was later interviewed under caution by police, made fresh allegations last week, when he said News of the World executives paid police officers to locate "targets" by using their mobile phone signal in an operation known as "pinging".
Then he told a Guardian journalist: "There's more to come. This is not going to go away."

As the Weasel King squirms under the heat of investigation and disgrace, it's important to remind ourselves just why this slimefuck is in fact one of the most dangerous and vile characters in the world today.
Basically, consider that only ten years ago or so, obvious morons like Palin and Bachmann would have been laughed off the political stage, period. That is, some vestige of honest journalism would have properly exposed these fatuous frauds and revealed them as the pathetic idiots they are. But...the effect of having Murdoch swallow entire media organizations, rendering them instead into shameless mouthpieces for toxic right wing propaganda has had a cumulative effect. Fake reporters like FOX News hacks are installed in the television and radio coverage, rendering any honest investigative reporting impossible. We as a nation have been slowly and steadily dumbed down--as evidenced by a total nut-job like Bachmann is in fact running high in the polls among the carefully dumbed down GOP electorate.
Even a palsied forum as this has several stunted morons obviously informed by the foam-brained missives of FOX News and similar non-stop blather of Limpdick and Hannity, etc. Just look at the dead and stuffed content of their posts.
Taking back the media is no small battle. Much tougher than taming Afghanistan, but with an actual moral purpose. The astonishing collapse of Murdoch's British media organization should give us real hope. That is if you're at all AWAKE in the first place. Are you?.....
