You don't see them in S. Korea, either.88 wrote:I spent a week in Europe recently, and you never see fatasses like that there.
People look like people here.
Not a herd of pear-shapped losers waddling around everywhere.
Seriously.
Yes, men who have to "do" their hair before they go out at night. And the fat-ass women were accompanied by hundreds, no, check that, thousands of pussified fat-ass men.
What a pitiful culture it's become.
Re: Went to the Tobey Keith Concert Tonight
I think it has mostly to do with the ease of getting fastfood nowadays. I remember when I was a kid and when we did have a fast-food night (once every couple of weeks) it was a 3-4 mile drive to the establishments. Fast-forward to today and it seems there is a McDonalds in everyone's backyard. I live in an area where I can literally walk (insert Rumplebeast jokes) to McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, KFC, Taco Bell, Quiznos, Sonic, Shipley's, Marble Slab, and Whataburger.88 wrote:The current generation of Americans is soft, slow and not too bright. This debt ceiling thing is scary. But the wave of morons set to take the reins is scarier. Just sayin.
It's too damn easy.

The closest fast food joint to my house is about 4 miles away.
Re: Went to the Tobey Keith Concert Tonight
I agree with you that its still a choice to eat poorly. I was just saying its in our faces no matter where we are which was not the case when I was a kid. The demand is off the charts as you mentioned and it will keep being that way until America goes on a health kick. What if that were to happen? What would happen to the economy?

I agree 88. But I also think it's a time issue. People do not have time or think they have time to prepare a healthy meal. Hence they eat out or get to go. Which fast food is the cheapest and easiest food to get to go so we all are obese.

This. From what I've heard, in Ohio you need to visit tattoo parlors and car dealerships. Lots of fit, athletic types hang around those places out there.Papa Willie wrote:88. I respect your opinion on MANY a thing - even though you're a lawyer, but god damn, man - what'd you expect? You're at a fucking COUNTRY concert in OHIO!!!!!! I went to a Kenny Chesney concert a couple weeks ago with some friends. I had not been to a concert in years. The last country concert I went to had chicks dressed in Rocky Mountain Jeans. Now, they all wear the daisy dukes and cowboy boots. I asked my wife if that was seriously the "attire" the chicks wore these days and she concurred. I thanked her for not joining the fad as it looks pathetic.

I wouldn't go see Toby Keith or Kenny Chesney in concert even if Indy Frisco offered me every one of the 27 TV's in his house if I did.

Apparently some of the audience members didn't share your enthusiasm, SS. And Toby's very angry
Toby Keith's Golf Club Ravaged by Fire, One Week After Theft
Talk about adding insult to injury. Just one week after money was stolen from Toby Keith's BelMar Golf Club in Norman, Okla., the club's pool house was destroyed by fire. According to the Oklahoman newspaper, flames could be seen from a mile away as fire engulfed the building early Wednesday morning, July 20. Luckily, no one was injured, but firefighters estimate the blaze caused about $75,000 worth of damage.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, but investigators suspect "dissatisfied fat fans" as the most probable. BelMar's golf course is open for business today, but the pool will be closed for a few days for investigation and clean-up. The snack bar will continue to open twenty-four hours.
Just last Wednesday, July 13, inside the BelMar Golf Club, an obese man approached an unattended cash register behind a bar and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. He was caught on surveillance video, but his identity is not yet known. Toby is offering a reward for information leading to the burglar's arrest. "He is angry. Toby is very angry," BelMar membership director Jenni Kennedy tells Oklahoma's News 9. "He wants to make sure that people are held responsible for bad behavior."

Re: Went to the Tobey Keith Concert Tonight
Bel Mar is actually not a bad track. at first, it was outside of town and had a very windswept feel with tall natural grasses off the fairways. pretty cool. however, now a partnership group with Toby and Barry Switzer built a bunch of houses around it so it's not as cool to play. just feels another gated community golf course type deal. the special part of it is gone. still, as i say, not a bad course at all. there's some real holes and you have to hit quality golf shots most of the time to score.

I'm not a country music fan (apart from Steve Earle, who I just saw again last night), but I have noticed here in the 'Burgh that Kenny Chesney concerts seem to attract honest-to-goodness HOT women, and few Cholesterol Countesses.
I think the hotties like the Chesney concerts because all they have to do is wear a white hat, but for other country music concerts it's necessary to put on 175+ lbs.
