I doubt you'll find any Hopslam around now, and even if you did, the hops profile would likely be a bit diminished by now. Hopslam is a winter seasonal. Start looking for it in December. If you like the Two Hearted that much, maybe I should send you a sixer of a local double IPA that comes out in August. I honestly believe it to be the very best beer I've ever tasted. Anywhere. Maybe trade for some BBQ sauce.

If they get one, they can get them all. Just depends on if they want to buy it, et al.IndyFrisco wrote:Now I am jonseing for the Bell's Hopslam as well as the Double IPA. I will probably have to score some of that in Indianapolis or Bloomington as my local shithole liquor store probably won't carry it. Since they do get Bell's though, maybe I can talk to the manager and see if he can get me some of the other Brands.

I saw Double IPA on the Bell's General Store chalkboard. Makes me think it is in season. I went to the liquor store over lunch and placed an order for three cases of DIPA if they could get it. She said they place orders on Mondays and receive on Wednesdays so I won't find out until next week if I can get it. I'd still be up for swapping beer for sauce though.Goober McTuber wrote:I'll IM you when the beer is released.IndyFrisco wrote:Deal. Re: Hey Screwball
BTW-just browsed the beer cooler at Winco. The "summer beer price jackup" has kicked in.
Most micros were at about five-and-a-half bucks. The highest, including all the non-locals to be found anywhere there was about six-and-a-half.
So, averaged out, I guess that comes to $8.78.

I tried something similar at the LPGA Championship this morning. It was a beer called "Pale Moon" by Coors errrr the "Blue Moon Brewing Company. It was free and even at that it was a waste of my taste buds.mvscal wrote:I'd call it a dog's breakfast from the wannabe crowd. Blue Moon is fucking garbage. I won't drink that shit, anymore, and I can't drink that shit. I've only blacked out twice while drinking: Both while drinking Blue Moon.BSmack wrote:I tried something similar at the LPGA Championship this morning. Maybe someone spiked the orange they served with your Blue Moon.
I tried it before. It's just bland. Water-like. Not sure how you passed out. Maybe you drowned?

Was at CVS to get the Mrs. some Leinenkougals and noticed they had Hamms Premium. Thought they quit making that shit? Thought of Fester though and chuckled.

I haven’t forgotten about this. For some reason they moved the release back a month to September 1st. Not sure why, as they normally have it available for The Great Taste of the Midwest beer festival in August (which was epic, as always). The beer will be released next Thursday on tap, so I imagine sixers will be available in 2-3 weeks.

Re: Hey Screwball
How much do you plan to send? I'll go ahead and get an equal amount of BBQ sauce packaged up. Just let me know your preferance. Mild/Medium/Hot or combo of the flavors. I can pop habanero peppers like M&M's just about, but check with 88 on a heat level preference. In my mind, the Mild just tastes good, but those born and raised round these parts think it has a little kick. Medium does have some kick and if you cook it onto the meat like basting ribs going slow and low, it intensifies. Hot definitely has some kick as I use habanero in it.
I sell the sauce for $6.50/quart so just tell me how much $ in beer you plan to send, and I'll match up accordingly.

Oh, and the last time someone sent me beer (Left Seater hooked me up with an assorted case of Yeungling, thanks again Bro), it was a nightmare. Hope this works out better.

I have a heavy duty Styrofoam box, might be from some Omaha Steaks someone sent me. I plan to bubble-wrap each bottle, and I’ll stuff that fucker as full as possible. I won’t know how much I’m sending until I pack it, but whatever I send, you’ll wish I sent more. I’ll include a note as to what it cost, and what kinds of sauce I want - probably mild and medium. Last year it was $10.99/sixer (a pre-emptive GFY to Dinsdale).

I don't believe there was a hops shortage this year, so the pricing should be stable.Dinsdale wrote:If they raise it a couple of bucks, then congrats -- you're now competing with convenience stores on Las Vegas Blvd.Goober McTuber wrote:Last year it was $10.99/sixer (a pre-emptive GFY to Dinsdale).

The U&L -- once again, BODE be unto it.
But don't hold your breath waiting for cheap hops -- the U&L guys are now contracting the hops, and are willing to pick them up -- might still leave the Lesser Beer States on the short end of the stick.
