Lions vs. Vikings

I thought about this, and, with the return of the great Kevin Williams, its a no brainer to me. McNabb is getting more comfortable, and Peterson is a BEAST, so in my humble opinion, the vikes take this one 35-21.
Also, I think that the vikes can put detroit's faggott QB in the hospital.

I'll bite...

Only two ways the Vikings win...McNabb stays upright and avoids mistakes and Peterson controls the game on the ground and keeps the Lions offense on the sideline. McNabb doesn't have a big arm anymore nor do they have a downfield threat. The Lions defense only needs to worry about 20 yards from the line of scrimmage at most and they can focus more on the run because McNabb isn't good enough to beat them with his arm. I wouldn't worry about Williams in the middle...the Lions can't run between the tackles anyway. That Vikings defense isn't as daunting as it once was...I wouldn't put Stafford on Rivers' level yet but I can see him putting up numbers on that Vikings secondary as well.

dude, percy harvin can outrun anyone on your defense, so, mcnabb needs to find him. and, I'd like williams to find stafford, and knock him out.

He's #72 in receiving yardage, no touchdowns. I'd have to say he blows goats.

So what? He still sucks and his QB is even worse. McNubb only has only completed 25 passes this year. He is one of the 3 worst QBs in the league.

Kevin williams I suspect, will drive stafford 's lil puny head into the hard turf, and, in the process, if we are lucky, seperate his shoulder, and fracture a rib or two.

What's funny is he's pimping Harvin when they've still got the best back in the sport on the team and he usually wears the Lions out and especially at the Triple H Dome. He's the guy I worry about on Sunday...the Lions defense is fast enough to keep Harvin from going crazy. If A.D. (sup Dins) is kept in check, the Lions will win (and cover). The fact the Vikings have no deep threat with Rice now in Seattle, McNabb's arm is crap and the Lions have an improved secondary and their linebackers can defend in pass coverage...I'm not worried about Harvin. Teams have been able to run on the Lions so far...the Chiefs were moving it on the ground prior to Charles blowing out his knee.

As for Stafford, he's taken hits but he's been wise to know when throw it away although that interception last week was one of his few brain farts when he literally just threw the ball into an area that happened to have several red hats in the area but McGraw promptly coughed up the pill shortly after. The thing I liked last week was watching Titus Young run some downfield routes and he's able to make tough catches. Stafford was praised highly last week about his ability to fit the ball into small windows. If he's given time to throw, he'll put up huge numbers. The Vikings have to get pressure on him because any good QB that doesn't have time to scan the field and make a decision is either going to go down or make an errant throw. Stafford showed his experience on the interception last week.

I'm glad McNabb is a noodle arm because this would be worse than 6-0 against a functional QB. The Lions o-line needs work on protecting Stafford and establish something on offense. Peterson has been solid but without a QB that can stretch the field, the Lions can put an extra man in the box to check A.D. and still be able to defend their limited passing attack.

This team needed to be humbled...didn't think it would be at the hand of the Vikes. This oughta slow down the stupid fans and writers putting them in the playoffs.

That being said...the Vikes need to figure out how to play two halves of football.

Watching a team dominate the first half and then roll over and die in the second is shades of the old Lions. Prior to this year, the roles would typically be reversed. The Lions would look good for a quarter or two and hang in a quality opponent but when the other team realized who they were playing, they crushed them.

He's been really good the last two weeks...great set of hands. Eager to see Fairley out there...gotta be getting close to him being able to get some reps.
