Well, they were, until their singer died earlier this year. Got to see them in a shitty little club here in Tempe a couple years back. Seth Putnam was already looking pretty haggard then. That was after his coma. I think even he appreciated the irony that the guy who wrote "You're in a Coma" actually ended up in a coma.

Funny you mention S.O.D. I just interviewed Dan Lilker for the Nuclear Assault installment of my 1986 thrash series. Already have a Dave Ellefson interview in the can, and I've got my fingers crossed on what could be a really cool one if it comes through. Don't wanna jinx it...

Also, just as a bit of trivia, Seth Putnam is the other guy screaming along with Phil Anselmo at the very beginning of The Great Southern Trendkill. Possibly the best opening seconds of a metal album this side of Reign in Blood.
