Then just give us your pick and quit crying over the fact that LSU is rated higher. Alabama is at home. They should win. I’ll take them in the Pick ‘em, which should theoretically give LSU the win.

Look at strength of schedule. Huge difference.
Re: Alabama-LSU
Not a big follower of SEC football.
~da horrah!!~
That being said, Bama seems very strong but I seem to remember a few times when I had the same thought and they rolled over.
LSU seems to have a thing for pulling big games out when they shouldn't be able to.
Just to be contrary I'll say LSU 17-14.

Re: Alabama-LSU
Exactly. How Boise's SOS is ranked so highly is anybody's guess. Bama has two convincing wins over 8-1 teams from solid BCS conferences, and one of those was on the road.
I'm with Sam on this one, and for the same reason: Bama has a stronger, more reliable offense with that O-Line and Trent Richardson. They should be able to move the ball better on LSU's defense than LSU will against Bama's defense. Also, while having the home field hasn't proven to be much of an advantage in the past, most of that past does not include Nick Saban as coach of the Tide. Since he's brought Bama back to the pinnacle, yeah, home field in Tuscaloosa matters.
LSU does do really well on the road, though; probably better than any SEC team. The locale will matter less to them than it would to Bama.
Bama has covered each time I've picked them. I haven't looked it up, but they may have covered in all their games this season. Bama, Stanford and Houston have been my 'locks' in Pick 'Em, even though I haven't been smart enough to ride that Stanford train every week.
Les Miles is one lucky fuck, though. That guy definitely has an angel on his shoulder, so who knows?
Everything I've seen tells me Bama is the better team, although LSU may be the ballsier team. If it's close at the end, I guess that means LSU will win.
Hmmm. Okay...Bama 30-13...or LSU 19-16.

Papa,
So you say the SEC is awful this year, yet there is a high chance that an SEC team will win yet another national title. Sucks to be any other conference.

I wouldn't go that far, Van. Anybody can lose on any given day. I think Marcus Allen said that.
Re: Alabama-LSU
Okay, I'll grant you the slight possibility that Stanford could beat this year's SEC winner. That's it. No one else has a shot. Oregon won't get it done. Oklahoma's pass-happy spread will get obliterated by those defenses. Okie St's defense will get destroyed. No one from the B1G or ACC need even bother making the trip.
It's Stanford or bust. If they lose before the title game, yep, just go ahead and make it Alabama-LSU Part II for the title.
And you know how badly it galls me to say that.

I've watched enough of LSU and 'Bama's games this year to say Nov 4th is the de facto National Championship as I've said a month ago. Whomever wins will go to the $$$ bowl.
I have a feeling Oklahoma is going to beat Okie State and guess what that sets up for a National Championship?

But yes, this is the real NC game. Whoever wins Saturday is gonna beat the ever living stinkpiss out of some deer-in-headlights opponent.

Did you know Boise State is #4 in the BCS rankings? Do you think Boise will lose another game in the weak WAC? I've also stated that Oklahoma (it's in Norman, OK as I've spent my Freshman and Sophomore years there) will most likely beat Okie State (OSU is in Stillwater a few hours north and east off the I-35).
So, the winner of the 'Bama/LSU de facto NC will most likely play Boise State in the BCS $$$ Bowl. So STFU already.

Look Gobbles in this respect... Many are bitching about Boise State not getting a legit shot at the title. So if the winner of the 'Bama/LSU game gives them a beat down in the NCG, then it will end the argument for Boise. Same thing here. Yes, I agree with you, however the BCS has Boise ranked at #4 right now. My feeling is Oklahoma is going to beat Okie State and the writers are going to make a mockery of the NCG by putting a gimmick Boise State in to make a point.
Do you even comprehend my point? I'm with you on who "should" be in the title game but since we are looking at conference realignments... the sports writers are going to say "fuck it" and put Boise in there to piss people off.

Actually the BCS has Stanford at #4. Boise State is #5.
With their remaining schedules there's no way that Boise will pass Stanford, assuming that they both win out.
The Cowpies would still have to lose a game for either of them to get a shot.
