Disagree. I need to see Houston play someone with a pulse. ANYONE. The only team they've played from a BCS conference is putrid UCLA, and that was a shaky victory for the Cougars.
Re: 11/13 Top 10
Yep. By far their most mistake prone game against legit D1 players. They fumbled the ball twice inside UCLA's 15-yardline which tells me one of two things. 1) Taking a hit from 4 star prototypical sized defensive players will jar the ball loose from Houston's smaller RBs and WRs. 2) First game jitters against an AQ opponent caused those mistakes.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:Disagree. Either way, nobody knows if Houston is a fraud or a really good Non-AQ team. The next two, maybe three weeks will give us a better idea for sure. If they beat SMU in convincing fashion, then I'll be somewhat impressed. If they beat Tulsa on the road, then I'll know for sure they are one of the best non-AQ programs in the country.
The stars are aligned for Houston to have a dream season, but they have to handle their business over the next three weeks.

Well...yeah. It's an automatic bid because they will be ranked higher than 16, be conference champion, and ranked higher than anyone in the Big East. They get in based on the rules the BCS created.Jsc810 wrote:If Houston goes undefeated, they absolutely should be in a BCS game.

Nice take, Coogs. I was half-expecting you to put up a fight over my comment. I don't think Houston sucks, I just think they're an enigma. Are they a legit football team, or another johnny-come-lately mid major with a video game quarterback ala Tim Rattay/La Tech, Colt Brennan/Hawaii, etc? Boise has earned the benefit of the doubt with me. They're an established football program, and they beat a respectable Georgia team in their own backyard, a team that will probably play in the SEC Cash Grab game.Go Coogs' wrote:Yep. Except UGA looked like complete poo the first two games, and got much better once their noobs got some real-time reps.
One could argue the Georgia team BSU faced wasn't very good. One could also argue that TCU was the first good team BSU faced (TCU has alsoimprovedleaps and bounds through the course of the season)... which resulted in BSU losing at home.
I'm neither dismissing nor agreeing with your take, merely pointing out that you might be giving BSU a little too much benefit of the doubt.
I'd be down with a BSU/Houston bowl game, but not if Houston qualifies for a BCSer.

Still, their win over Georgia is light years better than Houston's best win. The difference between 0 losses and 1 loss is not that great to me, especially when the 0 loss team hasn't played anyone at all.

I'll go with...
1. LSU
2. OSU
3. Oregon (better marquee win than Bama)
4. Bama
5. Arkie
6. Stanford
7. Clemson
8. OU (who I think would lose to just about any team that could muster even an average defensive effort)
9. Houston
10. Michigan State
1. LSU
2. OSU
3. Oregon (better marquee win than Bama)
4. Bama
5. Arkie
6. Stanford
7. Clemson
8. OU (who I think would lose to just about any team that could muster even an average defensive effort)
9. Houston
10. Michigan State

With the games Alabama has remaining, I can't see the Tide being able to maintain a #3 ranking or to gain the #2 spot. If the Sooners pound Okie State, they should jump Alabama.
I don’t think so. Compare Oklahoma’s loss to Alabama’s loss. I would prefer to see Okie State play LSU, but if I have to watch a rematch, Oregon is definitely preferable to Alabama.
